Chapter 2: Cameron-

Have I just bagged the hottest girl in school? I thought as I swerved through the many bodies in the corridor on my way to my next class. I turned the knob and entered the already started class. The teacher stared at me for a second, before dipping her heavily made up face to mark my name of the class list.

“Take a seat Mr Chase” she said, in her annoying voice.

I sat next to my friend George who had already started on the given work. I didn’t mind school, I wasn’t a perfect student but I did O.K. George handed me a copy of the sheet and I started on the task.

Before long, the bell rang and I was quickly out of my seat and through the door, it was last period so I made my way to my locker to retrieve my bag and homework. When I arrived, Stacy was already there packing her things into her bag, her earphones in at full capacity, I could tell that she was listening to her favourite type of music, Opera, more specifically, Phantom of the Opera. “Hey” I said casually nudging her shoulder with my fingertips and she looked up at me startled before she removed the earphones.

“Hello,” She said sweetly a smile breaking across her face. “How was your last class?”

“Fine thanks, how ‘bout you?”

“Alright, I guess… Science is still a bitch” she admitted, and I chuckled. Her phone buzzed and she looked at the text her expressions turning into annoyance as she muttered something, returned the text, the slammed her locker shut.

“What’s wrong?” I asked.

“My friend just bailed on me, I gotta walk home now!” She whined, thrusting her backpack onto her shoulder.

“Let me give you a ride” I suggested.

“No, no. I’m fine, I wouldn’t want to in-convenience you” she answered with a wave of her hand.

“Stacey, please let me drive you home. You’re no in-convenience. What. So. Ever” I answered slowly casting a quick glance over her slender form, I returned to look at her face and blush had spread across her whole cheeks, I still got it I thought as I picked up my bag.

“Alright, Just promise not to kill me?” she pleaded

I chuckled as I closed my locker, “Promise. Come on let’s go” I assured as I lead her through the weaves if corridors, across the parking lot and over to my bike. I reached and gave her the helmet and she gave me a questioning look, “Hey, I wouldn’t want you to fall off the bike and injure your pretty little head would I?”

“Erm, thank you… I-I guess” she answered, blush running quickly along her cheeks again as she took the helmet and pulled it into place. She struggled with the strap, I reached around and helped her clip it properly.  She thanked me again then hopped onto the bike holding on the seat, I laughed again and turned to face her,

“I think it would be safer if you held onto me”

“Oh, alright” she said quietly before putting her hands on my shoulders, I snorted then grabbed her hands and wrapped them around my waist.

“Better?” I asked

“Better, thank you” She answered as she laid her helmet on my back. I kick started the engine and we took off.
