Chapter 20:

Stacey-

“How about Saturday?” Cameron asked over my shoulder

“Netball” I answered

“Sunday?”

“Sorry, singing lessons” I prompted

“Right…erm…Oh! I know, how about this Friday? There’s no school, we can go see a movie or something?” he smiled widely

“Friday sounds…,” I teased him “sounds…. Perfect!”

“What sounds perfect?” George asked from behind us

“Oh, nothing…” Cameron answered

“We’re going to the movies, wanna come?” I asked

“Count me in!” he grinned

“Great” I smiled back. George walked away, stopping to high five one of his friends on the way. I looked into my locker, grabbing my laptop and History paper. Cameron nudged me with a questioning look,

“What was all that about?”

“He’s desperate… I thought I could introduce him to some of my friends”

“You, Stacey…are purely wicked. But unfortunately correct, he’s always at my side…people are starting to think we’re having a bromance or something” he smiled and kissed me on the cheek “C’mon lets get to class

“Of course” I giggled then groaned.

My next class was with Cameron, yes. But it was also with Jesse and Raquel. Fun.

I opened the class door, “Morning, Sir” I nodded to the teacher. He made a slight grunt from behind a newspaper, and I took it as a Sure Stacey, now just sit down I found my usual seat beside the window and placed all my books in their normal spots and grabbed my pencil case from my laptop bag. Jesse walked into the room and stared at the empty seat next to me, he quickly took advantage of the situation, basically running to the seat beside me.

“Good morning, Stacey” he smiled

“Is it?” I asked, scowling at him

“Why wouldn’t it be? I’m here at school, with you. I couldn’t be happier” he exclaimed

“Just do your work, Jesse.” I begged

“Anything for you, Stacey”

“Chapter 18, ladies and gentleman. This semester we will be studying ‘The Vikings’” the teacher piped up

“How original” I mumbled under my breath as I turned the flimsy pages of the ‘at least 100 year old’ text book.

The teacher droned on and on, but I couldn’t hear what he was saying at all. I was thinking about Jesse, Wasn’t it just a couple of weeks ago that we were sitting here laughing at the teachers mispronunciations, incorrect facts and stupid hair cut? I questioned myself; I looked across briefly at him.

He was staring at the teacher, twirling his pen in between the webs of his fingers. His blonde hair, styled in that messy look that I used to love… I sighed.

Used to.

A finger poked me in the back. I turned, Raquel sat there smug grin plastered across her face. She passed me a note, I grabbed it and unwrapped it under table.

Cameron Chase was the best I’ve EVER had!

I shot her a glare, and then shot Cameron the same one. He looked confused. The douche! I got up out of my seat and dropped the note in front of Cameron’s desk on the way out of the class room.

“Miss Sun, class has not finished yet!” the teacher called after me. I pushed the door open with my fist and didn’t look back
