Chapter 28:
Cameron-
This has got to be it I thought as the casket that held my beautiful girlfriend was lowered into the ground. So full of life. So full of joy. And now, so dead. So lifeless.
So gone.
That was the only way to describe me too now. Gone. I was just gone. I didn't know how to live, I didn't want to live. Living my life was just too hard, I just wanted to leave.
"I'm sorry, I just gotta go" I whispered to Stacey's mother who was standing beside me. I pushed myslef numbly through the sea of black and towards my white Audi. The only white thing at the whole funeral, before I could get into the car Stacey's twin brother caught up with me,
"Are you okay, Cameron" he asked through the knot in his throat
"No, but I'll smile and pretend I am... for Stacey's sake" I choked back the tears that were always present.
"I am truly sorry. I know that you loved, Stacey...more than anything. But I also want you to know that we all loved Stacey too and your not alone on this. So if you ever need you to talk, I'm always here. And I'll never go away" Tyler said solemly, placing his hand on my shoulder.
"That's what Stacey said" I whispered
"Pardon?" Tyler asked, perplexed
"That's what Stacey said!" I yelled "She told me that she'd never go away and look where she is now! She's being buried under mounds of clay" I hiccuped "I'm sorry, I... I know you lost more than me. You lost your twin sister and I am terribiblly sorry for that but right now I need to be alone"
"I understand. Oh! I nearly forgot...," he pulled out a small notebook "This is Stacey's diary. We think you should read it"
"I don't know if that's a good idea, Ty" I answered back
"It is," he huffed "Just take it and read it"
"Okay" I grabbed the book and got into the car and sped down the road.
I flopped onto my bed and opened the book.
Most of the pages were about her life before she met me, days at the beach, movies and just awesome days with her friends. Then I came across a seperate part of the notebook that had a rubberband around it and it was labelled 'Chasing Cam', I smiled and took off the rubberband.
