Chapter 24
Cameron-
“It was such a nice night” Stacey giggled clinging onto my arm as we walked away from the old theatre,
“Yeah, it was great. Pity bout the weather” I said looking up at the clouded, dark sky
“You think it’s gonna rain?” she asked
“If we’re lucky” I chuckled
“You’re so bad”
“I keep trying to warn you” I pulled her close and ran my fingers through her bone, straight hair. She was so beautiful. I leant down and kissed her peach coloured lips, she lent closer pushing her palms up my chest and intertwining them behind my head. I let out a small moan and slipped my hands down her back, cupping her bottom. She let out a small squeal and grasped my hair, crushing our lips further. I slipped my tongue into her awaiting mouth and licked my surroundings; she tasted so good from all the ice-cream she’d been eating previously. I pushed her back onto the wall beside us and placed a trail of kisses down her neck, stopping to nip slightly at her collarbone. She arced her back towards me giving me better access to her Sunkist flesh. She took her hands from my neck and returned them to my chest, she lifted my shirt up and ran her warm hands up my bare chest.
“I love you, Stacey” I mumbled against her mouth
“I love you too, Cameron” she giggled
I old beat up car drove up beside us and we jumped off each other. Stacey’s mouth flung open,
It was Jesse’s car.
We hadn’t seen Jesse in months, but he’d continually tried to call Stacey, begging her to forgive him. He’d sent me numerous threats but I didn’t tell Stacey, she’d totally freak.
“Jesse? Is that you?” Stacey asked advancing toward the car
“Hello, Stacey” he answered leaning out the window
“Wha-what are you doing here? I thought I made it plain and simple.” She folded her arms across her chest
“Stacey, you don’t get to decide where I go or do not go! So just back off!”
“Watch it, dude” I said warning him
“Shut up, Cameron” he spat. I could smell something, I sniffed the air.
Beer.
No it was more than beer it was hard liquor. Tequila, Rum, Brandy maybe? Stacey must’ve smelt it too because she was wafting away the smell,
“Jesse… have you been drinking?” she asked
“Amongst other things” he snapped back
“Like what? Drugs?” she questioned again
“Oh, yeah Stacey Sun collect your prize!” he hollered “I’ve done it all tonight!”
“Jesse, c’mon you’re scaring me. Let me drive you home” she offered
“I don’t think that’s a great idea, Stace” I whispered grabbing her arm
“Don’t worry, Cam. I’ll be fine, he wouldn’t hurt me” she convinced
“I know sober Jesse wouldn’t, but there’s no telling what stoned, drunk Jesse will do” I was super concerned
“Um hello? I can hear you, idiot” Jesse piped up. He stepped out of the car and I took in his horrible appearance. His hand where covered in what I hoped was dust, his eyes were blood shoot, his hair was completely matted and his clothes were covered in something that I knew what it was but I sure as hell didn’t wanna know,
“Jesse, you look terrible!” Stacey exclaimed
“Life is terrible, Stacey! Especially life without you! This jerk right here,” he shakily pointed a finger at me “has stolen you away from me and I intend to get you back” he lunged for Stacey but she ducked out of the way and his hands hit the wall with a thwack. He screamed and lunged for her again, this time he was too fast and Stacey couldn’t get away in time. He knocked her to the side and her head smashed onto the wall with an almighty CRACK! Her limp body fell to the pavement,
“STACEY!” I yelled running towards her
“Shit, I’m outta here” Jesse ran to his car and sped off
“God, no! Please no, no!” I ran my shaking fingers over her silent face,
Not Stacey too. Please God not her too!
