It catches you off guard
At 3PM, when you're working
At 3AM, when you're wide awake
It enters you unnoticibly
Like a snake slythering
Like a ghost manisfesting
It haunts you from time to time
When you're with people
When you're alone and lonely
Your appetite loses you
You've lost control of your mind
You see yourself cracked through a smooth mirror
Suicidal thoughts consume you
But as much as you win them over
That's as much as they take you over
Friends become mere distractions
Video games become getaways
Meals become temporary breaks
From the familiar hells of depression.
You wonder if you are loved
But you tell yourself it doesn't matter anyway
Because you don't even love yourself
There are strong warriors
In this battle within yourselves
But there're weaker ones
Who could've won, if someone had helped them.
A simple call
A simple message
A simple praise
Could save someone from this ruthless battle
That not everybody experiences
Sleepless nights
A wet pillow
And a blue eye from beating herself up
There's a guy sitting over the ledge
Don't make people feel
That people only care when it's too late
There is never really a right time
To tell someone you love them
Because the next thing you know
You realise you can only see that person again in the after life.
