Disclaimer: I ONLY own the plot and characters that I have created. I don't own anything related to the Bulls, thank you.
(A/N: Also I don't know if you guys know Jimmy's growing up story but I'm not going to explain it here, so, just google it.)
"Tonight?" She questioned with shock, she felt her heart rate begin to increase. Why would this make her nervous? It was just Jimmy's family.
"Yeah," he shrugged, "I know it's kinda last minute and stuff but it's the last night my mom's in town."
"Okay," she breathed, "That's fine, um, what time?"
"Seven." Jimmy answered, "Look if it's too early or whatever that's fine just let me know."
"No, uh," Allison cleared her throat, "it's fine, we're gonna go and meet and have a great time."
"Okay, crazy." Jimmy laughed, "I'll pick you up at like 6:30, okay?"
"Okay." Allison nodded, playing it cool, except on the inside she was feeling a little panicked. What was she going to wear? She doesn't want to look like she's trying to hard but she doesn't want to look like she's not trying at all. What if they just don't like her? Maybe they think she talks too much, or not enough.
"You're sure everything's fine?" he asked, breaking her from her trance.
"I just..." She started, letting out a sigh, "I want them to like me, and I'm afraid that they're not gonna." She shrugged.
"Oh my god," Jimmy said, rolling his eyes playfully, "relax, they're gonna love you. You have nothing to worry about."
-----------------------------------------------------------------
When the evening rolled around, Allison stepped out of the shower and began rummaging through her closet. She had no idea what to wear. Red? No too bold. Black? No too dark. She went back and forth between five dresses and just couldn't make a decision.
Instead, she began doing her makeup and curling her hair when she heard her text tone go off. It was Jimmy, he said that he was on his way over. She quickly finished up her hair and went back to her closet. After minutes of just standing in front of her closet she finally decided on a cobalt blue quarter sleeved dress. Just as she finished pulling up the zipper she heard a knock at her door.
"Come in!" she called from her room. She was just finishing up putting her earring in when Jimmy let himself in and walked to her room.
"What do you think?" she asked, placing the back on her earring, "Does this look okay?"
"You're perfect." He said, pulling her in for a hug, "They're gonna love you, relax." He whispered, trying to calm her, "Nothing to worry about really, they're a bunch of goons."
----------------------------------------------------------------
When Jimmy and Allison walked into the restaurant they were meeting at, Jimmy's family had already arrived.
"Mom!" He called to the table nearby, seating a woman and two guys.
"Hey guys!" The women, assuming to be Jimmy's mother greeted. She walked right up to Allison and pulled her into a hug, "it's so nice to finally meet you." She said
"You too, I've heard a lot about you guys." Allison smiled; she was feeling a lot more comfortable. Everyone was so nice; she couldn't remember why she was so worried in the first place. Jimmy introduced her to his two brothers and they all finally took a seat together.
"So, you have to tell me how you two met now." Jimmy's Mother began, "I know it was through work, but I like details." She giggled. Jimmy and Allison both turned to each other and began laughing.
"That's all there was to it mom," he smiled, "I don't know what you want from me!"
"C'mon," She smirked, "A pretty, smart girl like this?" she asked, "You had to have done something romantic to win her over."
"Hey!" Jimmy defended, as the rest of the table held back their laughter, "What are you tryin to say?"
"Look," she smiled, "I love you very much, but you're not always the best with...well...being smooth."
Instantly Jimmy's brothers let out their snickered, causing Jimmy to give them a joking stern look.
"He was very smooth, I promise." Allison laughed, patting Jimmy's arm.
"Well I'll let that one go for now," His mother winked jokingly, "Now, Jimmy's always talking about you...like always." She started
"Oh my god." Jimmy shook his head, hiding his face in his hands.
"What?" She asked, putting her hands up in defense, "You do, and there's nothing wrong with that. You guys are very cute." She giggled, "But anyways, I wanna know about you, especially if we're gonna be family." She smiled warmly.
"Well, what do you wanna know?"
----------------------------------------------------
After they had all finished, everyone walked outside together and Jimmy's mom had pulled Allison aside, slightly, as Jimmy and his brothers were joking around together.
"Look, Jimmy has never let us meet a girl he's been dating," she said softly, "so I know you really mean a lot to him, and I just want to let you know that you're a really sweet girl, you're good for him." She smiled, taking Allison's hand in a motherly fashion, "He needs someone who can be there for him, and I know you're a good girl who can do that for him, because I know he'll do the same for you."
"Oh my god," Allison beamed, "Of course, to tell you the truth, I really don't have luck in the dating pool, but Jimmy is different, you definitely raised him right."
"Hello?" Jimmys brother called to the duo, who were like gossiping girls.
"Oh yeah, yeah, just a minute" His mother rolled her eyes, "I can see he really likes you, and I really like you too. I hope you stick around, Alli. Is it okay if I call you that?" She laughed
Allison chuckled, "Of course, I prefer it anyways." She grinned, "And thanks by the way," she said as they made their way towards the three boys waiting for them, "I was a little nervous to meet you guys, but you really made me feel comfortable, made me feel like I was already part of the family."
"Are we gonna stand out here in the cold forever?" Jimmy whined, playfully.
"Not until you give me a hug goodbye." She said. Jimmy walked towards his mom and pulled her into a hug and then his two brothers. Allison did the same and said goodbye to the three of them. "Hope to see you guys soon, Alli ." His mom smiled.
"You guys too." Allison replied to the three family members.
"Bye, guys, love you!" Jimmy called as he took Allison by the hand and started heading towards the car.
"That wasn't bad at all, they're really nice." Allison said, looking up at Jimmy.
"Yeah?" Jimmy questioned, "I'm glad." He said, with relief, "Hey, what was my mom sayin to you, by the way?"
"Noooothing." Allison smirked.
"Oh, c'mon, really?" he questioned as the two of them buckled up and headed out of the parking lot.
"Mhm," she nodded, "It was all good stuff, don't worry."
"Thanks by the way." He said, reaching one of his hands from the steering wheel to connect with hers.
"For what?"
"For meeting them, I know it was kinda last minute and like I-"
"It was perfect," She cut him off, "They were super nice, I was easier than I expected." She said as they stopped, approaching a red light.
He turned his head to look at her, "God, I love you."
"I Love you too."
