Myra's brunette hair sweeps across her face slightly as the wind swirls into her car. I see her taking the sight of us in and it's not a pretty one. Our worlds couldn't be more different. Worlds that used to be just the same are now almost more than different universes apart. There's a part of me that longs for what she has. Not having to hope everyday isn't your last. Not having to hear about or see another death of someone you loved. Another small bit of bad news, letter from Samuel or henchman that tracks me down and I fear I might break. But I know I can't, not for my sake but for Tobias, Christina and the baby. Maybe more importantly, I've got to fight for Caleb and Anna, those who died because I didn't. I owe them that much.

"Oh my God, what happened to you two?!" Myra's eyes fall on both of us, panting, sweating and bleeding. Her eyes like lasers, scanning over all our injuries, mapping the depth and width of each cut and bruise. A true doctor. Without the pain radiating from every tiny inch of my body, I would've felt awkward and self-conscious but now, Myra might be the only hope we have and she can see that. Another pain hits me, causing me to double over and screw my face up in pain. "Never mind, get in."

Christina lunges towards the door, flinging it open and half-shoving me inside. I stumble into the back of the car, the cool leather instantly streaking a cold snake across the skin it touches. After clumsily shuffling across the back seats, Christina follows and shuts the door behind her. Myra swivels slightly in her seat to take a glance at us but thinks twice and shoves her foot on the car pedals. The car lurches into action, spluttering occasionally as it slides around block corners. I stare out the window, trying to distract myself from everything else. It's like being on a zip wire. The people and buildings all a grey and brown blur, with the sporadic splurge of vibrant colour darting into my view from shop signs and brightly dressed people. Every few minutes the pains stab me, and as the car gets further away from that building newly scattered with lifeless bodies, the more I feel my body start to shrink inside itself, like it's shutting down. I slide further into the seat, focusing on the seat in front of me, fighting to stay awake. I can't fall asleep, because I fear I may never wake up.

I feel my shoulder being shaken gently and realise the car isn't moving anymore, the whizzing world has come to a standstill. Myra and Christina are both out the car quicker than I can focus my eyes on where we have stopped at. Yet another looming skyscraper, similar in size to the building that mine and Tobias' apartment is in, except this one is grander by far. The panelling is a pattern of wooden planks and a gleaming black marble. Two guards dressed in a deep blue stand half sleepily either side of huge oak doors. Deep red rose bushes with tiny white lights decorating each bush and illuminating the gravel path leading up to the doors.

Myra opens the door on my side of the car, which I realise I am partly slumped against, as I start to slide towards the ground. I steady myself as quickly as I can before inelegantly heaving my aching body out.

"Where are we?" I manage to splutter, as Christina comes to my side and wraps her arm delicately under my arm.

"This is where I live, you'll be safe here." Myra replies, locking the car and starting to head up the path.

"Don't you think it's suspicious for us to come in, covered in blood and that?" Christina chips in suddenly and Myra comes to a halt.

"There's no alternative that I can think of. Can you think of anything better?" Myra's voice is startling stressed now, stealing glances at the two guards. Christina doesn't reply and as another pain hits me, she grabs my arm tighter and rubs my back gently. But as soon as the pain relieves slightly I know I have to move, I don't want to stay out in the open any more than I have to. I start to move and Christina matches my pace, lightly pushing me forwards. Myra rushes forwards to talk to the guards and as we slowly make our way towards them, I can see the tattoo snaking their way out of the ends of their uniform, covering the uncovered skin. One guard has a flame inching up his neck while the other has his knuckles and behind the ears inked with words that I'm not close enough to read.
