The speed of the wind blowing by me, as I leave the hub, makes my eyes start to water. I realise I don’t know where I’m heading; I don’t actually know where Matthew lives. The busy people haven’t noticed us, too caught up in their own worlds, and that is fine by me. Just like a bee, you leave it alone and it won’t harm you. I’d always used to like bees, especially the big fluffy looking ones but Caleb never used to like them, he used to avoid them at all cost. If I could guess what would be in his fear landscape I would definitely say bees.

I turn behind me to make sure Tobias has followed me and I’m not going alone. Sure enough he’s there, watching my every move, ready to run at the word go. He stares into my eyes but all I feel is the cold surrounding me. I look up to the sky and sure enough the afternoon sunshine has been replaced with an intimidating black cloud, risking raining on us.

“You don’t know where to go, do you?” Tobias asks me and I’m not sure if he’s saying it in nastiness or not.

“That thought had crossed my mind.” I say sarcastically and he raises his eyebrow, and he points across the street and in the distance is a cylinder shaped building, the glass panels of the outside reflect the scenery and the clouds are twisted on the curved mirrored glass. Little spits fall from the sky and dot around on my clothing. I nod and we start to break into a run again, swerving through the maze of streets until we reach the building. This building wasn’t here when I first lived so it must be fairly recent.

We walk up to the double glass doors and a small box with numbers on the side flashes as I touch the bar to open the door. I’ve never seen this kind of thing before so I swivel to look at Tobias who shakes his head and starts to walk around to the back of the building. I stand my ground, not moving until I get an answer to my confusion. I realise how Erudite that sounds and maybe I made the wrong decision choosing Dauntless as I seem to have been taken over the Erudite parts of me and the Dauntless parts are being buried in my fear of guns and loss. Tobias beckons me over with urgency but I ignore him, studying the buttons. I can see underneath in small writing, written on paper and stuck on with sticky tape, are the names of who the apartments belong to and I find Matthew’s name. I wonder what happens if you press the button, I can only guess that it tells the person in the apartment that someone wants to see you. That’s the opposite of what I want to do. I want to give this traitor the biggest scare of his life, make him fear his life. He deserves it, to see his life flash before his eyes, denying an innocent girl the chance to live her life once again and lie to someone who I thought was friends with him, obviously I was wrong.

“Tris c’mon!” Tobias whispers harshly. I don’t really know why he’s whispering, it’s not like anyone is going to hear us since no one body has even acknowledged our existence and the wind is picking up so even I have trouble hearing him. With some reluctance I follow his lead and he stops at the back of the building. I was expecting a back door or something but there’s nothing so I just look at him expectantly. He points one finger towards the floor and a small man hole is covered up by a plastic seal. We’re going to have to go down, my heart sinks, I don’t really want to know what’s down there. I have to do it though, for Anna, the girl who helped me, whose last breaths were because of helping me, helping me to forgive my own brother for something he didn’t do.

“Wait here.” Tobias says and starts to jog to a row of bushes and he ducks under one of them.  He returns a few seconds later with a small crowbar in his hand. E wedges it between the ground and the plastic cover and the cover is popped off. I peer down the manhole and I’m glad it’s just a couple of corridors, slightly rotten wood in places but not as bad as I had once thought.

“I’ll go first.” I suggest but it wasn’t really a suggestion more of a statement. I lower myself to the ground and dangle my body so I’m as close to the floor below as possible. Yet another jump that I have to prepare myself for. Although this isn’t as drastic as the jumps I’ve made before, in fact this is nothing compared to what I’m used to. I wriggle then drop onto my feet as I fall, I’m unbalanced and fall onto my side.  I hear Tobias laugh at me above me and I cross my arms as I get up off the floor and wait for him to join me.  He drops down effortlessly and just stands there grinning proudly. I just stick my tongue out at him like I’m a child, which technically I guess I still am but I guess the things I’ve done not even every adult could or would do.
