Chapter 3

Kieras POV

     The day finally came. In exactly 8 hours, I had a plane to catch. It was 11:00 and I had just started packing. I still had a lot to do; shower, makeup, hair, packing, and hopefully get some sleep. After my quick shower, I got some sleep with my hair in braids. Why waste time curling it in the morning, right? I was exhausted but it was hard to stay asleep when I was seeing my big brother the next day. When I woke up, it was 5:30am. The plane was set to leave at 7:00 so I had to get up super early. I popped out of bed and put on my gray sweats. Who gets fancied up for the airport? After pulling my braid-curled hair into a high ponytail, I took my suit cases outside and my mom drove me to the airport. I went through all the mandatory procedures and soon boarded the crowded plane. After a few long hours, the plane finally landed. I called a taxi to get to my brothers house and as soon as I walked through the door, my brother swooped me up in a hug. "How are ya kiddo?" He said before kissing my forehead. Wow he'd been here for so long, he was even starting to get an accent.

     "Great! So happy to be back! " I squealed. As soon as I got some food in my stomach, I headed out the the barn. I listened to some music and sang a few lines. The moment I finished the last note, Bennette walked in with a huge smile on his face. "What's the look for?" I asked suspiciously.

     "I see my little sister still sings like an angel." He continued, "ever thought of singing for a few quick bucks?" I laughed at the thought. Maybe one day when my voice sucked a little less.

     "Heck, no. I need voice lessons and stuff first, remember? And did you paint in here?" I looked around observing the new deep red color, that I was sure was once a dark pealing green.

     "Yeah, last month. I figured you might like it better than that worn out old coat," Benny smiled and took a seat at the little desk I had set up about a year ago.

     "It looks great. I missed this place so much. I can't wait to get a place out here," I whined. Florida was definetly not for me. It was too crowded, although it could've been worse.

     "Yeah, one day, Ke."

     One day couldn't come fast enough.
