29◆Kieras POV
After about a month of silence when it came to talking to Hunter, I began to forget about him. I mean, I couldn't wait forever right? It was time for my morning run, so I slipped on my sneakers and started my workout. Music pouring from my ear buds to my brain, I kept a steady pace. Once I passed the two mile mark, which happens to be Starbucks, I treated myself to a Vanilla Frappe. They reopened about a week ago, thank heavens. I slid onto a cold chair at a table for two. I felt the need to look around, so I did, and spotted a pale, brown-haired guy probably about my age, maybe 10 feet away from me at another table. Our eyes met at the exact same moment and he smiled. I looked down blushing, enjoying my drink. When I looked up again, he was gone. I looked around, hoping to see this boy and when I looked back, there he is, right in front of me. "Hi, miss, I was wondering if you'd like some company?" he said motioning to the chair across from me. "Yeah sure," I said with a smile. "I'm sorry that was rude of me, I'm Colten," he said, sliding onto the chair. "I'm Kiera, nice to meet you." "I haven't seen you around, are you knew around here?" He said. "Yeah I just moved here, though I've visited all my life," I smiled. We went on talking, told each other more about ourselves. I told him about my brother, but not enough about Carrie for him to know who she was. He went on to tell me that he went to the school where I would be enrolling, but was one grade ahead of me. He was a senior, I was a junior. We stayed there all day, then he walked me home. Benny was outside when we walked up, "Hey, kiddo!" "Hey, Ben" I replied. "Who's this?" He asked. "This us Colten, I met him at Starbucks," I replied. "Nice to meet you," and that was the end of that. We said our goodbyes, and I went to the barn, where I spent the night.
