"Sammy, can we go out for a while? I need to talk to you," I whispered to him as Hunter was busy practicing guitar on the couch. He agreed and we dismissed ourselves from the house. "Where we going?" Sam asked, looking down the walkway a bit. "Just for a walk," I said and started walking, "Did uh... Did Hunt used to like me or something? Because I had this dream and-" Sam cut me off. "Yeah," was all he said. "Well... does he still?" I looked at him questioningly. "Why do you care?" he said and looked away. Because he's my best friend. I think I should know if he has a crush on me! "Because... wait are you jealous?" I let out a small laugh. "No- I just think that the last thing you need right now is a boyfriend," he stated. "That's my decision. Whatever. Does he like me or not?!" I raised my voice a bit. "Do you realize how you sound right now? Well in case you don't, I'll tell you. You sound like a little girl in middle school who has a crush. You do like him... Don't you?" He looked at me and smiled. I poured out to him, "I don't know. I guess I'm starting to feel like I was before the accident. If I like him, and he liked me, why didn't we just date? Or did we?" I took on the possibility of the option. "No you didn't, because the day you guys were out in the woods and you fell was the day that he was gonna ask  you out."

We kept walking. And talking. We didn't make it back until about 7 at night. When we got back, Hunter was making dinner and he looked stressed, his phone clutched in his hand. When he looked over, he let out a sigh. "Oh my God, one of you could have answered your phone! Where were you?!" Hunter was worried, and it was kind of cute. Wait.. what? "Calm down, bud. We just took a walk and lost track of time. Sorry my phone was on silent and Ke's died. Whatcha making?" he looked over Hunt's shoulder at the pot of... something cooking. "Sloppy Joe's," he replied. "Eww. Well I guess I should get home anyway. Sorry I returned your girl home so late," Sam said with a small chuckle as he walked out the door, leaving me blushing like an idiot.

Hunter giggled as he wiped my nose with his finger, "You know, food is supposed to go inside your mouth?" I laughed back at his remark and took my roll full of the meat and threw it at him, covering both him and the floor. He busted out in laughter. I was glad he wasn't serious. He was always fun and full of life. I guess that was why I felt like I could tell him anything. He was easy to talk to. He was one of my best friends, I don't know what I'd do if he was serious all the time. Boy, would that suck.

When he came back from changing, I was curled up on the couch in my fuzzy SpongeBob pj's and a white tank top. "Hey, you're back. It's about time. Wanna watch a movie?" I smiled while flipping through Netflix on the XBox. He nodded and took a seat next to me. "What kind?" I asked while keeping my eyes on the screen. It was getting late, 8:20 pm and I was tired, but at the same time I was determined to get some alone time with Hunt before he had any tours, which he had a lot of the time. I wouldn't have been shocked if I fell asleep twenty minutes into the movie. "Umm... Maybe a comedy?" He paused before continuing, "Or we can go out," he raised his eyebrow. "Where do you wanna go? It's pretty late on a weekday, are you sure anywhere's gonna be open?" I murmured. "Yeah, I know a place. C'mon," he said as he stood up and took my hand. He was in red plaid pants and a gray tee shirt. "Wait, lemme get changed!" I hollered. "No!" he wined, "Before it closes!"

Hunter took me to an arcade in the mall that was about ten miles from my house. "Air hockey!" I yelled and ran over to the machine with the neon green puck. "Play with me!" I smile and he walked over, his smile matching mine. "Hey, I have something to ask y-"

I cut him off, "How 'bout this, I win, I ask you a question. You win, you can ask me anything. Deal?" I winked. Hunter agreed and put a coin in the machine. I needed to find out if he still liked me, or if he was going to ask me to go out back in the woods a couple years ago. This cute little eighteen year old is about to get a wake up call. No one can walk out of my life that easy. Especially not Hunter Easton Hayes.
