The CMT Awards were less then a week away. I had no idea what I was wearing and time was flying by. Carrie was going shopping with me later. She said she knew of a dress shop and she had an amazing fashion sense. Supposedly Miranda Lambert was coming too! Carrie knew I was a huge fan and invited for me after "what happened with Hunter". I didn't get it, I was fine without hanging out with him. We were friends, we had a fight, he's out of my life, end of story. I was not the type of girl who sat around crying whenever someone left. Anyway, back to the award show topic. Miranda was coming over really soon and I was still laying on the barn floor. I clicked the lock button on my phone and the lock screen shined brightly on my face. 10:36 am. Finally, I found the energy to make it to my feet. I think what got me up was the thought of actually seeing Miranda in person, not on stage. In less than an hour I got to talk to a woman of monumental inspiration to me. Oh man, less than an hour! The doorbell rang at the exact moment I pulled on my left boot. "I got it!" Carrie screamed from the kitchen. I ran downstairs in my skinny jeans and cowgirl boots. "Hey Miranda! My sister-in-law is so excited you're coming!" She raved. Was that necessary? "Where might she be?" I heard her voice and froze dead in my tracks. Oh my God! I walked over, trying not to freak out, "Hi! I'm a huge fan! Like giant! I've been listening to you for as long as I can remember!" Yeah, that whole 'not freaking out' thing didn't work very well. "Awwh I'm so happy to hear that! I'm a big fan of you too!" she replied. Huh? "Shh! She doesn't know about that yet!" Carrie hissed. "Know about what?" I practically yelled. They exchanged looks and Miranda looked at me, "Your brother and Carrie gave me a CD of a couple of your songs." They didn't! "You're not mad right?" Carrie looked at me, unable to read my face. "No! No, not at all!" I turned to Miranda, I'm glad you like it!" I said in shock. Carrie smiled, knowing I'm over-excited, "Almost ready? You've been hogging the bathroom all morning," She said, thoroughly embarrassing me. "Yup. Lemme just grab my phone," I replied, looking around the room. I spotted the camo casing of my cell phone on the table and shoved it in my pocket. Smiling at Miranda, she stepped out of the doorway to let Carrie and I out. Carrie went before me and I hung back, not wanting to make a fool of myself. Ten minutes later, we pulled into the parking lot of a little dress shop. It was really nothing big or fancy, not somewhere I would think Carrie would bring us to for an award show. We walked in and she brought us to the back of the store where the dresses in front of me proved me wrong. There were at least a hundred dresses in every color. All of the dresses were so gorgeous, it was going to be hard to choose one. That was when I saw it, a long sleeved gown with a zig-zag design in different shades of brown. That was going to be mine, one way or another.
