Chapter 49

"Oh my God, oh my God! Be careful Dipsy Daisy! I'd like some of my hair when we're done here!" Hunter yelled.

"Chill out! Trust me, will you!" I yelled back. We were in a kitchen and I was trimming his hair, which he let grow to about shoulder length. He took a deep breath and stopped talking. When I announced that I finished, Hunter stood up and thanked me. My head looked down to my feet and a weak pair of arms wrapped around my body. He may have been short, but I was shorter.

"You're always off in your own little world, ya know that?" He hugged my tighter, "You'll see him again. Keep your head up, princess," Hunter tried to comfort me. He always knew what I was feeling. Most of the time he knew why.

The sun trailed through the windows, making everyone aware of it's light. I slept until three in the afternoon; the night before wore me out completely. I pulled off my covers and went to my closet, pulling out a floral blouse, my favorite high wasted denim shorts, and a black headband. I pulled my hair into a high pony tail with light curls, and did my makeup naturally. Hunter came with a knock around 4:30. I called to him, granting him permission to enter my room. 

"Almost ready, Ke? We still have a half hour so take your time."

"Dipsy Daisy," I whispered silently to myself. 

"What?" Hunter didn't hear me.

"I had a dream when you left. I think it was a memory."

"Nah. It was probably just a dream," He turned to give me privacy.

"Dipsy Daisy," I said plainly.

He turned around slowly, scared of what might happen. "What?"

"In my dream... That's what you called me. I was cutting your hair in a kitchen. I didn't recognize the kitchen though. You were probably about twelve." He swooped me up into his arms. As much as I didn't want to admit it, I liked it there. 

He whispered in my ear, "That was your nickname. That was my house. That was the day of my first date, and the week after your father left. Dipsy, you're coming back."
