Keira's POV
Hunter came out on the porch, probably heading to leave. I was a mess. He saw me and wrapped his muscular arms around me. If he wanted to, he could have snapped me in half. We stood there, him hugging me, me crying into his chest. His hand slowly stroked the back my head. Hunter pulled back to look at my face. Trying to get my face out of sight, I turned my head to look at the house, where Carrie and Ben were watching. Carrie's face was red like she was crying.
"Come on... Let's go somewhere," Hunter suggested. I nodded and he helped me into the car.
"I want to remember. I want the meds," I broke the silence lingering between us.
He glanced over at me, the back at the road, "You do?" He looked almost shocked. "If that's the case... I have an idea. But it might not work."
"Whatever it is, yes."
We drove to his parents house. Hunter's mother, Lynnette, came out before I could get out of the car. Hunter got out, circled the car, and carefully opened my door. As she came closer, it became clear that she was crying.
"Keira, baby, you're home" She cried.
I looked at Hunter, extremely confused.
"Mom," he shook his head, a signal I wasn't doing well with the memory loss. Her smile faded after that and she extended her hand toward me, "Nice to meet. Keira right?"
"Yes, ma'am, but I know what happened. Nice to meet you, though," I said, trying my best to be polite and not break down in frustration.
"Ma, we need your help. Ke want's meds but I want to make sure it's a reasonable idea. I could sign for them right? I'm18," Hunter asked.
"No, I think she'll need a parent or guardian," Lynnette replied. Hunter put on a fake grin, like a kid who wanted ice cream before dinner. "Fine. But only because it's Keira," Lynette said reluctantly.
"Thank you so much. Can we go in your car? Mine's almost empty."
She agreed and called for Leo, Hunter's father. A brown haired man with a mustache walked out. His face lit up when he saw me. This must be Leo.
"Nice to see you again, Keira," His voice was deep. Another person who missed me, another person not to remember. Lynette whispered into his ear. "Oh," he said, disappointed by whatever she had said.
We got to the doctors within 20 minutes of leaving the house. The middle aged women at the receptions desk called my name in no time and it was off to the cramped room that was branched off about half the way down the hall. The doctor came in, his white medical coat reflected the sun like snow in the morning.
The examining process took hours. They had to take an ex-ray, which was the shortest part. Each step of the way, Hunter was literally right next to me, holding my hand to make sure I was okay.
Hunter's POV
When the doctor came back in the room from getting the test results back, Keira immediately tensed up. Her delicate hand squeezed mine, causing the tips of my hand to turn red. I pulled my hand away and replaced it with the one farthest away from her. My other hand landed softly on her shoulder, reassuring her that I was here.
"Well, Kiss Keira. Are you ready to see if there is medication that might help your memory to return?"
Her face turned to me, to make sure I was ready for whatever fate had in store for us.
"I'm ready," she said, unsure if she really was.
"Well..."
