Keira's POV
"Well... Then you will be happy to know that there is medicine available. But as with all brain injuries, there's no guarantee that it will work. And there's a list of side effects that come with it."
I couldn't breathe. I could be getting my memory back. Finally. My life is about to change forever.
Hunter grabbed my hand in his. It was double the size of mine and engulfed mine completely. "You okay?" he whispered in my ear.
"Yeah... Can we go get those meds now?"
We went across the street to the pharmacy to get the prescribed medication. The ginger pharmacist handed me the pills and told me only to take two a day. I nodded and and Lynnette signed for them. Hunter walked over holding two sodas. He handed me one and I popped a pill in my mouth, chugging soda to chase it down my throat.
"Says here you might have sleeping trouble, weight gain, head aches, and stomach cramps," Hunter said.
"It's worth it. Listen, thanks Hunt. Thanks for believing in me, and talking to me, and helping me. I owe you." I smiled and walked closer until I was right in front of him. i slid my arms around his waist and intertwined my fingers behind his back.
"Ke, you don't need to thank me," Hunter placed his hands just below my shoulder blades. "I have a performance coming up and I'd love for you to join me. I'm opening up for Carrie. She was going to tell you but I figured I'd make it special." His chin pressed against the top of my head, suggesting that he was smiling. "So that's a yes?"
I nodded and we were off. Off to get back to where my brother and his wife were, waiting to unfold the lies that had been built up over the years.
