Phil

The day started when Dan threw a bauble at my face.

"Phiiiiiilll, wake up I wanna decorate the tree it's December first already come on Phil Phil Philly Phil Phil."

Rolling over, I tried to shut Dan out. Don't get me wrong, I love him with all of my heart, but I just woke up and couldn't think straight. Dan sighed before his footsteps lefts the room. The fact that I thought I could get off that easily was laughable itself, but I was sleepy and forgot how eager he can be.

I could hear him making noises around the house before I heard his footsteps retreat back to our bedroom.

He walked over to my side of the bed where I was peacefully trying to pretend like I was still asleep.

"I know you're awake you little shit. Let's go decorate the tree. I made coffee."

The thought of coffee sounded nice, but I wasn't going to let him win that easily. That's when it happened. That dipshit threw a bauble at my face. It hit me just above my eyebrow. It didn't really hurt, but I definitely wasn't expecting it. My eyes flung open, locking with Dan's wide stare. He was suddenly hugging my side, apologising profusely.

"Fuck, Phil I'm so sorry I didn't mean to hit your face I was just aiming for above your head I'm so sorry."

Suppressing a chuckle, I hugged him back, reassuring him that it didn't really hurt, it was just unexpected. I reached over to the bedside table for my glasses, slipping them on my face and finally being able to see the non-blurry version of my beautiful boyfriend. Dan was too excited for Christmas decorating, letting his natural curls frame his face instead of straightening them like usual. His dark brown eyes were filled with merriment, his lips turned up, and his dimples showing themselves. He looked like an angel and all I wanted to do was look at him.

"Phiiiiillll, come on, let's go, the coffee should be ready by now."

He grabbed my hand and led me out of our room and into the lounge where we'll set up the tree. He had already gotten all of the boxes out from storage and they were piled neatly by the couch. We then walked into the kitchen where I enjoyed a nice cup of coffee and some breakfast. Once the dishes were rinsed out and put in the sink, we walked into the lounge, ready to set up the tree.

It took about an hour to get it set up and decorated, but it looked beautiful once it was done. Stepping back to admire our work, I used the subtle height difference to my advantage, leaning into Dan's side.

The cute moment was ruined once Dan swiftly moved to turn on the lights around the tree. The pulsating strobe lights always gave off a rave feel, so we stuck with it. Dan still did his yearly song and dance routine, in which he would jump around the tree singing:

Rave time rave time rave time
Rave time rave time rave time
Don’t step on the glass
Don’t step on the glass
Tinsel in your foot
Bauble in your foot
Bauble in your eye
Everybody cries when you go to A&E with a bauble in your face
Blood! Blood everywhere!

I don't understand why we do this each year, but it's nice and pretty cute. After our lovely song and dance performance, we end up doubled over in laughter, fighting for air.

"You're such a dork," I murmured under my breath, but he still heard, another dimpled smile finding its way back. He nodded before leaning in for a kiss, signaling that he heard, but he agreed. We were each other's dorks. We just click and I don't know how to describe it. We're like two puzzle pieces that perfectly fit together and everything is snug and comfortable and nice. Bringing my hands to his hair, I began playing with his curls, spinning them around my fingers. His hands fell lower along my back, slowly drawing me closer to him, deepening the kiss. This could be another one of our Christmas traditions, I don't mind. I'd gladly wake up early every day if it meant seeing him so happy and getting these cute makeout sessions.
