Dan
There are only two days out of the year that I will wake up before Phil: Christmas morning and his birthday. Today is the latter.
After waking up and carefully untangling myself from him, I stealthily made my way to the kitchen to work on his birthday pancakes. As it turns out, it's hard to be completely quiet when cooking, but Phil's a heavy sleeper, so I didn't wake him up. Once the pancakes were completed, I placed a stack on a plate then placed it on a carrying tray next to Phil's coffee. I walked carefully to our bedroom, trying not to drop his breakfast. I made it in one piece and Phil was still somehow fast asleep. I set the tray down on his bedside table, then leaned down to kiss his forhead.
"Wakey wakey coffee and pancakey," I sang out, shaking him softly. He stirred, but didn't wake up. "Phiiiiill, you're an old man now, wake up so I can tease you about it." He scrunched his nose and rolled over onto his stomach.
"I'm not old," he muttered into his pillow while half asleep.
"Then wake up and prove me wrong."
He rolled back over and opened one eye. "Hmmm. Let me sleep on that."
"Phiiiillll," I whinned in protest, but he was already chuckling to himself. He finally opened both eyes as he propped himself up on his arm and reached for his glasses, putting them on easily. He sat up in bed, pulling the blankets around himself. He smiled contently, proud at himself.
"Good morning," he said, already reaching for his coffee. I flopped back into bed beside him, cuddling closer to his warm body.
"Happy birthday Philly. I made you pancakes. They're red velvet flavored."
His eyes brightened as he picked up the plate of pancakes and inhaled deeply.
"Oh my god, I love you."
"Are you telling that to me or the pancakes?"
"A bit of both. But seriously, you're the best. Did you try them yet?"
I shook my head and before I knew it Phil was shoving his fork in my face. I opened my mouth and Phil fed me the pancakes, which were actually pretty good, not to toot my own horn or anything.
Phil quickly finished off the stack, leaning back and smiling softly once he placed the plate back on the tray.
"Okay, that's all I wanted. Birthday over. Now let's go back to bed," he said as he sunk back under the covers.
"Not so fast, Lester. We still have things planned for the day."
"But they don't start until later. For now, we can just sleep a little bit longer."
"But what if I had something special planned for now?"
Phil looked over and raised an eyebrow suggestively."Something special, you say?"
"But, if you want to sleep, we can do that instead," I said as innocently as I could while shutting my eyes and bringing the blankets closer.
"Daaan," he whimpered. I tried not to let a smile break through as I tried to fake falling asleep. My act didn't last long, as he kept poking my cheek, and after a solid 30 seconds of him poking, I broke into laughter.
Once my laughing fit stopped, I looked over at Phil, who was already looking at me. I found myself closing the distance between us until our forheads were touching. "Happy birthday babe," I whispered as I closed the final centimeters and pressed our lips together.
(A/N: can you believe Phil is actually 30 wow I can't I'm living in denial tbh.. Anygays, I hope you enjoyed this lil fluffy bit which is funnily enough my 30th update it's a sign from god himself or something I don't know what I'm saying it's late and I'm soft over Dan and Phil goodnight.)
