Unexpected Visitor

Chapter Three.

Percy

As everyone sings along to the campfire song I watch the flames grow taller and brighter. The campers are extremely happy about winning. They kept patting me and Annabeth on the back saying good job.

Annabeth went and sat with her Athena friends, Thalia is with the hunters, Nico went into the woods probably shadow traveling to the underworld, and Grover is away finding demigods so I'm sitting by myself which isn't as sad as it sounds I like the quiet and the alone time.

It's been two weeks since we defeated Gaea and everything has been peaceful but I still never have alone time. Campers are always around talking about what a great hero I am, it gets annoying at times.

As everyone talks, laughs, and sings I turn and look at the forest and see a shimmering light in the trees. Curious I stand up and sneak away without anyone noticing.

I make my way through the woods trying to be as quiet as possible so nothing attacks me. I stop at Zeus' fist and find the shimmering light is the aura of a goddess

"Hello Perceus Jackson."

"What do you want Hera?" I ask not wanting to show any respect for the goddess who took eight months of my life.

"Now Percy that's no way to talk to a goddess." Hera says disapprovingly.

I shrug and wait for her to tell me why she's here.

"I suppose I should tell you why I'm her." She says. I nod and wait. "I'm her to congratulate you on successfully uniting the Romans and the Greeks."

"Thanks but if that's all I need to get back before anyone notices my absents." I say and turn to leave.

"Wait Percy there's more." I stop and look at her. "You are still in need of allies."

"Next your gonna tell me Egyptian gods are real." I say laughing.

"Well..."

"What?" I ask panicked.

"Never mind forget I said anything, as I was saying there is another species you can create allies with."

"Who?" I ask getting impatient.

"Wizards." She says.

"Wizards." I laugh. "You mean with wands and weird pointy hats."

"Ugh you humans are so stereotypical." Hera sighs. "But yes wizards."

"Why bother telling me this?" I ask. I swear to all gods if she takes my memory and sends me away again I will personally lock her in a cage.

"I need you and your friends to unite them with the demigods. Don't worry I won't take your memories again. I simply need you and your friends to travel to the wizard school in London and make friends with them. After you have made enough friends you, your demigod friends, and a few of your new wizard friends will come back here to Camp Half-Blood. Make them like you and want to help you then do the same with Camp Jupiter." Hera explains, I nod not exactly thrilled about this.

"Now go get rest young hero and tomorrow you must talk to Chiron and get a prophecy for the quest, good luck and may the gods be with you." Hera says before disappearing in a flash of light.

I slowly trudge back to camp thinking about what I just found out.

Could wizards really exist or it it just a trick? I sigh confused, I guess I'll just have to wait till tomorrow.

With that final thought I join the campers again only this time I sit with Nico who has returned.

"Where were you?" Nico asks raising his eyebrows.

"Bathroom." I lie quickly not meeting his eyes. He nods and stops talking.

Finally after what seems like hours the campfire ends and slowly the demigods head back to their cabins.

I rush to my cabin not bothering to say goodnight to anyone which was a mistake, I should have known someone would come see if I'm ok.

"Hey." Annabeth says laying down next to me. I smile at her half heartedly and continue to stare at the ceiling. "Percy what's wrong?"

"Nothing I'm just tired." I say. I feel bad lying to Annabeth but I can't talk about it right now.

"Ok well get some rest I'll see you at breakfast." She says. She kisses my cheek and stands up to leave. "I love you."

"I love you too." I respond. She smiles at me one last time before leaving me alone.

I sigh and curl up under my blankets.

Something tells me I'm not gonna get any sleep.
