When Worlds Collide (a Harry Potter and Percy Jackson fanfic)

Iris Message

Chapter Nine.

Piper

After Thalia and Percy left the common room me, Leo, and Nico decided to take a walk on the grounds.

We walked in the direction of the forbidden forest. We were talking normally when something swooped down and pinned me to the ground.

I scream and reach for my dagger but when I fell it skidded a few feet away out of my reach. I kick and thrash around screaming trying to get out from underneath the fury.

I look around and see kids gathered around looking in shock. Leo and Nico are each battling a fury and not doing so well.

From the corner of my eye I see Percy and Annabeth push through crowd, weapons raised. Percy slashes through one fury and it explodes. Annabeth begins helping Leo. They all slash, stab, jump, duck, roll and block. Finally Annabeth stand it and it turns to sand.

Now they turn to the one holding me down and they charge. Percy reaches me first and knocks the fury off of me. He helps me up and I grab my dagger.

I duck just as the fury tries to cut me with the talons. I roll when I hit the ground and come up beside Annabeth. Annabeth clasps her hands together and I watch as Percy runs and jumps into her hands. She pushes him upwards and he jumps. He stabs the fury and falls to the ground. His training kicks in and he rolls. He stands up covered in monster dust.

We all turn in a full circle making sure there's not another threat before we put our weapons away.

"What I miss?" Thalia asks stepping through the crowd.

"Oh you know just three furies no biggie." Leo says trying to act macho. I laugh and pat him on the shoulder.

"Aw man I miss all the good fights." Clarisse, coming from behind Thalia, grumbles crossing her arms. I roll my eyes and steer my friends back to the castle totally aware of the kids following us whispering to each other in amazement about what they just saw.

"How about we eat some dinner and then get some rest." Annabeth says. We all nod and follow her and Percy to the grand hall.

Annabeth

"Three furies at once Percy, that's never good." I say in Greek so no one listens into our conversation. Still just to be safe I look around the grand hall. Most of the kids were either eating or looking at us and whispering.

"I know Annabeth we'll IM Chiron later but for now don't worry about it to much, ok?" He says back in Greek.

I nod and eat a little bit before me and Percy stand up to leave.

Thalia looks at me concerned, asking me where were going with her eyes.

"Just for a walk." I say. She nods and continues eating. Percy leads me out of the grand hall.

"Ok let's go IM Chiron." He says. I nod and we head to the lake. Percy creates mist and I throw a gold drachma in it.

"O Iris goddess of the rainbow, show me Chiron at Camp Half-Blood." I say and suddenly Chiron is standing in centaur form in front of us. "Chiron!" I shout happy to see him.

"Ah hello Annabeth and Percy how is school?" Chiron asks stopping his archery class to speak with us.

"It's great I've learned so much, I'm taking extra classes and we've made lots of friends." I ramble excitedly.

"Chiron today the three furies attacked us, we killed them but I don't see why they came, the war is over and there's supposed to be magical protection around the school." Percy cuts in.

Chiron nods in thought. "demigods and wizards both need allies right now. Dark things are stirring and you must work together. Gaea was just another small battle like the fight against Kronos, the big war is coming." Chiron says. I nod stepping towards Percy.

"Chiron what does that mean?" Percy asks. "Defeating Gaea was no small battle it was a big war, same with Kronos."

"You will find out soon." He replies. "Now one more thing before I go, you need to make allies faster. You have until Christmas break before you need to return to camp with a few wizards, the strongest ones."

"So we introduce them to Camp Half-Blood and Camp Jupiter." I say nodding.

"Correct." Chiron says. "I wish you the best of luck, goodbye."

He swipes his hand through the Iris Message and it disappears.

"This isn't good." Percy says. I nod in agreement and bite my lip nervously. "Hey, it's gonna be ok. As long as we're together we can over come anything."

I smile and kiss him, glad that I have him by my side for this big war that's supposed to come.
