I rub Haven's back soothingly, her rough and loud breathing fills my ears. She suddenly lets out a coughing fit and I frown. The four year old lifts her head and sniffles.

“Mommy? Daddy home?”

I shake my head. “No, not yet.”

“Chibby?” She wonders, her voice raspy and nasally.

“No, baby.” Haven nods then leans her cheek against my chest again, watching the TV.

Colt was on the road with the San Jose Sharks for a couple all around games in the NHL. He wasn't officially on the team yet but he does play for them when a player is out. So far he's played in 5 games, which for a rookie is very good. But with this career comes with not being home a lot. Colt's been on the road with them for a month, it was a very long time. Haven and I were sick of him being away for so long but I would never tell him that. He's been enjoying himself and loving it. Colt also took Chibby with him on the road as well, so Haven's been missing her puppy.

Haven is sick, she has a mild flu. A stomach ache and strep throat, it was awful. She barely even gets two hours of sleep a night and she's always tired and restless. So we've been permanently stuck on Colt's couch for a week. Haven and I were wrapped warmly in a blanket while the Rugrats were playing on the TV.

“Juice, Mommy.” Haven pleads. I nod and reach over for her sippy cup, I hand it to her and she sucks down the thing.

I officially moved into Colt's house 2 months ago. I moved somethings from my room to Colt's and I'm always over here but I make sure to always visit Nathan, Lucy, my dad, and Kathy with Haven.

The month before Colt left for the Sharks, we were looking at many apartments but none caught our eyes. We want to move out and get our own apartment and live on our own but we've been picky. We just want to start our lives as Colt is now 24 and I'm 23. We're not teenagers anymore and especially us being engaged now.

My ears perk up when I hear a car door shut from outside.

“Guess whose here?” I gasp when I look down at Haven with my eyes wide. Haven looks at me with her pleading blue eyes. I mute the TV and stand up, bringing the warm blanket with us. Haven tries to turn around in my arms when she hears the front door open. I chuckle and put her down on the ground, she runs over to Colt when he comes up the stairs. He drops his bag and engulfs the little girl in his arms.

“Hi princess.” He greets her with a welcoming grin, dimples and all. Haven just hugs him. I bend down and pick up the little dog, Chibby barks in my arms. “You feeling better?” Colt asks Haven.

“Yes.” Haven replies. Colt starts making small talk with Haven and she just nods her head and grins up at him. Suddenly Colt lets Haven down and she runs over to me, I laugh and give her Chibby. The small dog immediately licking her face. I walk over to Colt and he squeezes me in a tight hug. I smell in his musky smell and relax in his arms. God, I missed him.

“Missed you.” Colt whispers as he ducks his head in the crook of my neck.
