-Jesy POV-
"I just wanna say something." Gilinsky said about an hour later.
Jack and I had been talking to Gilinsky and filling him in on the latest about everything and everyone. It was good seeing him laugh and smile.
"Go ahead." Jack nodded.
"I love you guys." Gilinsky took my hand as he said that. "Johnson, I'm so glad you took care of my girl."
Jack looked down, the expression on his face was horrid. I wanted to yell the truth to Gilinsky and end all this guilt and suffering Jack seemed to carry.
"It was nothing really." Jack shrugged and couldn't make eye contact.
"It was everything to me." Gilinsky went on still. "Because you know Jesy is everything to me."
Jack nodded. "I know. I mean of course I'd take of her...always."
I held Jacks eye contact for a second, feeling like I could kiss him for saying that in front of Gilinsky.
"And Jesy." Gilinsky held my hand. "I'm so sorry for that fight we had - I should have listened."
"No no it was me." I said. "I shouldn't expect too much from you. You had your life planned and I just wasn't apart of it."
Gilinsky winced. "Well you're going to be apart of it because I'm not losing you just yet. Not to anyone."
My eyes shot to Jack for a second who looked wrecked. This was all my fault, I shouldn't have let myself fall for Jack in the first place.
"Well I should get home." I said with a forced smile. "Moms having me meet someone tonight."
"I better get you home." Jack said standing up."
Gikinsky nodded. "Johnson, could you give Jesy and a minute."
Jack looked stiffened but nodded and left us in privacy. Gilinsky pulled me closer and slid his hands around my waist. His brows furrowed.
"Something bothering you?" He asked cupping my cheek with one hand.
I shook my head. "No...no I'm just glad you're back and you're okay."
Regardless of cheating - I hated to admit it - I still did love Gilinsky. He was my first for everything and I would always care about him.
"I wish I could get out of this place. Just be with you." Gilinsky said. "I love you so much Jesy."
"I love you." I said. There were no lies behind that, compared to everything I said today.
"Dont go." Gilinsky whined.
I sighed. "Okay I guess I could stay the night. You shouldn't be alone anyway. I'll call my mom."
I rurned around to face the window and dialed my mom up. Gilinsky smiled and called Jack inside - who was sitting out in the hall on a plastic chair looking tired and emotionally spent.
"Hey mom." I said when she picked up. "I think I'm gonna stay here tonight, Jacks not in a coma anymore so - "
"I understand honwy." My mom said. "I guess you'll have to meet Rob some other time."
I said goodbye and saw Jack hugging Gilinsky.
"She should stay." Jack nodded. He didn't look angry or upset, just understanding.
Then Jack came over and hugged me gently, wrapping his arms around my shoulder. I buried my head in his chest.
"Thanks." I whispered. "I love you."
