-Jesy POV-

A month has passed. So much has been happening in such a short space of time but I'll recap it short and sweet.

For starters, Gilinsky and I are still very much a couple. He's been sweet and kind to me ever since waking up from his accident and being in acoma. He's happy. The only problem is: I'm not happy.

At least not fully.

Because Jack Johnson. The blonde hair, blue eyes and boyish charm stole my heart and I was in too deep. I'm in love with Jack Johnson, my boyfriends best friend. Jack and I have been spending more time together but mostly at my house since his mother doesn't agree with our intimacy ever since she found a condom wrapper in Jacks room.

Jack snuck out of his house to stay with me in nights that mom was away. We just stayed up late watching movies and studying for pop quizes. I didn't mind it and we had toned it down on the nasty business too.

But I was irrevocably in love with Jack. I tried to break it off - knowing it would hurt Gilinsky - but I couldn't bring myself to do that. I couldn't lose Jack and I couldn't hurt Gilinsky. I was so torn in two. With Jack I feel like I'm free, I don't gave to be the proper girlfriend or hold back my actual thoughts.

Yet with Gilinsky - regardless of the fact that I love him - I feel like I'm the perfect girl for a quarterback. I couldnt just let lose and be crazy. He wouldn't approve.

And Brianna. My very best friend and I have become closer since she knows about Jack and I. We tell each other anything and also everything. Brianna and Sammy were dating regardless of the fact that her dad hates the idea.

So currently, I was sprawled on my bedroom carpet with my science textbook out ready to do homework. It was a Sunday evening in case you're wondering.

"Jes! You ready for dinner?" My mom called from downstairs. I pushed my books aside and jogged downstairs to her.

Lately my mom has been more than just a mom. She's been around a lot lately and even has a boyfriend. I think he's changed her - his name is Joe.

"I've gotta study, you guys should go have fun." I smiled and fist bumped Joe. I felt like the adult here instead of my mom.

"You sure?" Mom asked rubbing my arm gently. It was all new affection to me but I was keen on getting used to it.

I nodded. "I'll be fine."

"We'll get you something." Joe smiled and followed my mom out of the door.

I chuckled at how cute they are and headed upstairs. As I was midway up, there was a knock on the door. I groaned and hoped it wasn't my mom checking up on me already. She does that lately.

I walked down and opened the front door, before I could register the visitor - I was picked up and carried inside. I noticed the blonde-brown hair anywhere.

"Hmm I missed you." Jack Johnson squeezed me in his arms and shut the door with his foot, still holding.

I giggled. "I missed you too!"

Jack set me down gently and cupped my cheeks in his big hands. They felt soft against my skin and made me feel shivers down my neck.

"Beautiful." He whispered, his hand moving towards my neck to push the hair over my shoulders.

"Jack." I blushed heavily and looked down.

He smiled and lifted my chin with his fingers. "You are. You know that."

"Thank you." I looked into his intense blue eyes - a warm feeling in my chest rose as usual. It was so hard to force myself to think of Jack as a friend.

"I saw your mom and Joe." Jack said pulling away much to my dismay.

I nodded. "They're having a dinner date."

Jack looked at his watch. "Well it's almost 7 p.m so let's get some food."

"No fancy place." I said.

Jack held his hands up. "Burger King it is."

I smiled and dashed upstairs to slide on my Adidas kicks. I wore jeans and a white tank top - I wasn't going to change just for BK.

I rushed down to find Jack staring out of the window absentmindedly. He looked handsome with the evening sunset light hitting his face. I gazed at him for a while - appreciating the artwork that is Jack Johnson.

"Ready?" Jack asked breaking my thoughts.

I nodded.

-

"This is on you by the the way." I poked Jacks side as he looked for a spot in BK parking lot.

Jack laughed. "Since when is it ever on you?"

I stuck our a tongue as he parked and we got out. Jack and I hardly hung out at school since Gilinsky came back from the a coma he was in. Jack seemed to have kept his distance well and it bummed me out.

"You're quiet." Jack said nudging me.

I shrugged. "I just missed this. You and I hanging out."

He nodded. "I did too Jes, its just that I - "

Before Jack could elaborate further on his reasons, I stopped dead in my tracks. We were facing the Burger King window and I stared through it now.

Jack followed my gaze.

"Is that G?" I asked seeing Gilinsky laughing happily.

"Yeah." Jack gritted his teeth beside. I felt a pit in my stomach just grow by the second when I saw who Gilinsky was with.
