"Jayce will you at least look at me?" I plead, grabbing his arm. I've been trying to get his attention for two minutes now and he won't even acknowledge me.
"So I heard Ermelo got suspended for breaking into the principal's office." Jayce says his friend, ignoring me completely. Apparently that guy I saw at the halfpipe skipped school too so Jayce wouldn't be alone here.
"With the name Ermelo, I'm surprised he didn't just beg to be homeschooled." His friend jokes, laughing at his own joke.
"Jayce, I like you. Not Darrin. I was pissed at him and had to deal with something. I promise." I say, hoping he'll listen.
"You told me to leave so you two could talk when you claimed you came here to see me." He says coldly, shrugging my hold off of him. I frown.
"I'm sorry Rocket Boy." I whisper so his friend can't hear. He tenses, but finally looks at me. I give a hopeful smile and spread my arms out for a hug. He thinks about it for a second, but gives in and pulls me into him, but not smiling fully. I squeal in happiness anyways.
"Does this mean the offer to be your girlfriend still stands?" I ask softly, not breaking the hug.
"Do you even want to be my girlfriend? That jealousy didn't turn you off?" he asks uncertainly, scratching his head.
"Gayyyyyy." His friend comments.
"Fuck off Zain." He growls, lifting his head up and shooting his friend the middle finger. Zain gives a peace sign and skates away. I giggle, burying my face in his neck.
"To answer your question, yes I want to be your girlfriend idiot. You trust I won't cheat on you, right?" I clarify.
"Of course I trust you. Relationships are kind of built on that. It's Darrin I don't trust. He's been eyeing you." Jayce says in distaste.
"I can deal with you thinking that. As long as you trust me." I say, holding back a gag and pulling away from the hug to smile at him brightly. Me and Darrin? No thanks. But that trust thing kind of made me feel guilty. I'm not being completely honest with him, but I don't think we've been dating long enough for me to tell him all the crap about my past. It's only been about a week.
He smiles back and leans in to kiss... my cheek. He kissed my cheek after asking me to be his girlfriend. Can't say I'm not disappointed. Or maybe he's saving the real thing for out date on Friday.
"See you tomorrow?" I ask.
"Leaving so soon?" he asks sadly. I nod reluctantly.
"I only left for lunch and I should go back before they call my home. If I miss school again, my parents will kill me. Hey speaking of, that reminds me; how are you even here right now?" I ask.
"Had a doctor's appointment and just decided not to go to school altogether. Zain decided to hang with me too to get out of that Physics test." He explains.
"Wish I could do that, but alas, my parents would never allow that." I say in mock despair. He chuckles and steadies himself on his board.
"Well I'll see you tomorrow Skye." He says, riding off while waving.
"Just because I'm your girlfriend, doesn't mean you don't have to call me Skylar!" I call, leaving as well.

As ironic as this sounds, Friday came too soon. Not only was my first date with Jayce as his girlfriend today, but tomorrow me and the guys were driving out to see Piper. My nerves were getting the best of me already.
