"What on Earth were you thinking?!" Mom yells in shock, throwing her fingers all over my hair and examining my face.
"She wasn't Terra and that's the problem." My dad growls back, glaring at me.
"Honey...your hair!" my mom cried, ignoring dad. I see Ari peeking through the corner to see what the commotion is about and shrug. My sister sends a warning glance.
"It's different and it's me. I like it." I comment nonchalantly, not caring about Ari at the moment. I knew what I was doing.
"If you wanted to do this, you should have consulted us first!" Dad says, anger evident.
"Last time I checked, it was MY hair." I retort, giving a small glare of my own.
"Does your school even allow this?!" Mother asked in agony, sitting herself down on a chair.
"It's just dark brown with a sky blue streak in it. I didn't dye it rainbow." I say, rolling my eyes.
"This is not over. We will discuss your punishment and talk to you in the morning. And you smell like cigarettes." My dad says in disgust. "Go to your room and don't think about getting out until I give the okay, you hear me?!" He adds, pointing upstairs. I shrug, moving to leave, but he grabs my shoulder to stop me.
"Leave your phone on the counter." He commands, rubbing his forehead. I can't lie and say that didn't bother me. I needed to talk to Piper. Then again, I still had my laptop in my room so-
"And bring your laptop down as well." Dad adds, reading my mind. I inwardly growl, but obey them, knowing if I argue I'll just be digging a deeper hole for myself.
-
"Why didn't you call- wow what the hell happened to you?!" Piper asked in awe, running her fingers through my hair. At this point, I was used to it and didn't get phased.
"Thought it needed a change. Tevin's gone and so is the old me. I just thought it looked cool and I've always wanted to be a brunette so yeah." I say.
"Yeah, and nice touch with the sky blue streak. Hey, maybe we should call you Skye now." She jokes. I scrunch my nose and shake my head.
"Yeah let's shut that idea down before it accidentally goes somewhere." I say.
"Aw c'mon Skye. You know you love it." She teases, giggling."Who's Skye? Hey that's a great nickname for you Skylar!" Rebecca says, coming out of nowhere. I groan and give her jazz hands.
"That was a joke, please don't call me that." I beg."Call you what?" Darrin and Kenny ask in sync, walking toward us together.
"Skye." Rebecca and Piper chime in together, winking at each other due to the harmony. This is not happening. Just kill me now.
"Skye? That's a pretty name. Is that your new nickname?" Melanie asks, placing an arm over my shoulder.
"Just shoot me. Right now." I whine, smacking my head.
-
"Hey so you never said why you ignored my calls and texts. Oh, and voicemails." Piper says, walking me home.
"Mom and dad are pissed about the smoking and hair change. They took away my phone, laptop, and happiness." I explain.
"Harsh, but you know you can't tap out every time one of you boyfriends move." She points out.
