Well, I didn't exactly want my last Saturday of Spring Break to be spent at Zain's house, but things don't always work out the way you plan.
Zain and Aaron were apparently the judges of this 'competition' and their first rule was that Jayce and I, and Fria and Reese couldn't sit together. With that said, Fria and I sat together while Reese and Jayce did as well across from us.
The 'audience' was Dylan, Freddie, and Becca, a girl that Dylan invited. Apparently this wasn't the first time they were watching this type of competition.
"Rules are simple. There are ten questions/categories and you both may work collectively to answer some of them. The couple with the most, or best answers, wins the competition." Zain explains. I spare a glance at Jayce who looks pretty calm. I didn't know what his reaction would be when we lost.
What? You think I'm being negative? No! I personally think Jayce and I are a great couple, but others might not. We're not exactly romantic. The closest we got to being cute was when we had a burping competition to guess what drink the other drank. I swear Jayce only won because he knows I love Cherry Coke.
"Ready?" Aaron asks. 'No', I think to myself, but we all collectively nod.
"First question. How long have you two been together? You may think about the question for twenty seconds WITHOUT looking at each other for help. If you do, you automatically lose this round. On my signal, Fria and Reese will say the answer in sync and then Jayce and Skylar afterwards. Got it?" Aaron ask. I nod in thought. I think we can get this one. We've been dating about half a month now.
"Okay, Reese and Fria, now!" Zain says.
"Eleven months and thirteen days."
"Eleven months and thirteen days!"
Wow. They both knew exactly how long they've been dating.
"Now Jayce and Skylar." Zain says.
"Five months."
"Almost half a year."
Oops. Well, that was close, right? Zain and Aaron knowingly give each other a look and write something down. Jayce shoots me a look that I can't really read. Okay, I can read it, I just wanted to believe I couldn't. It was disappointedly shocked.
"Next category is dating. You have to collectively tell us about your first date by finishing each other's sentences and then describing your ideal perfect date. Fria and Reese, go." Aaron says, gesturing to them. Fria gushes and begins eagerly.
"Well, he didn't even ask me out at first. He just sort of showed up at my house and said-
"Hey Fria! It's me, Reese! The one whose drink you accidently stole from the diner earlier. I wanted to ask you to come with me in my car and go to the arcade!" Reese finished. Fria giggled, but continued from where he left off.
"I thought it sounded strange, considering I didn't even know him, but something told me to say yes, and so I did. When we got there, the coin machine-
"Got stuck and Fria tried kicking it, thinking it would make the coins come out, but-
"It didn't and so we lost ten dollars. After that, Kenny bought five dollars' worth of tokens and we played games. In the end-
"We didn't have enough tokens to really get anything, so I-
"Tried bribing the guy at the prize counter to hand over the stuffed Panda who finally agreed to hand it over for-
