"Why the hell did you bring him here?!" Darrin whisper yells at me in private. I look down and shrug.
"I didn't think you guys would care and you'd get to hang out with him." I say pathetically.
"Kenny is here. You know how he feels Skye! Melanie told me. What is wrong with you?!" He asks, disappointment on his face.
"Would it help if I said I really liked him?" I ask weakly.
"You're so inconsiderate." he accuses.
"You're the one that introduced him to me!"
"I didn't set you guys up to rub it in his face!"
"Melanie and Kenny seem fine with it. In fact, Kenny's flirting with some chick as we speak. You're the only one that seems to be having a problem with it. What gives?" I ask, finally looking up.
"You know what? Whatever. I'm sorry I said anything." He says with attitude, moving to brush past me.
"No Darrin. You don't get to do this. We're talking about this right now. What is your problem?" I demand, yanking him back. He turns around and rolls his eyes.
"You wanna know what my problem is Skye? It's that Kenny and Mel and admittedly I, have been babying you ever since Piper left and it's not okay. Kenny because he likes you and Melanie because she thinks she has a shot at being your best friend now. Me because I care about you, sadly. You can't do this every time someone moves away. When Gabriel left, I let you all that stupid shit you did because he was in 'love' with you. When Tevin moved, I gave you the benefit of the doubt because he was your second boyfriend and you hadn't been dating too long but you really liked him and felt a 'spark'. When Kelsey's dad had to be relocated, I let you get away with it again because she was your second best friend. And when Rebecca moved, I let those 'things' go because she was your family and it made sense. I'm not letting it go this time. You can't keep acting like a child when someone you're close to, leaves. Grow up and start acting your age." He says, jabbing a finger into me accusingly. He seemed so frustrated, I almost cried. I held myself together however and glared. The Melanie part of that didn't make complete sense to me, but I got enough out of his speech to know he was pissed.
"I'm not the same girl I was those years ago Darrin. I'm not going to go crazy just because Piper left. You think I'm some pre-teen stuck in her rebel phase? Well news flash, I haven't even tried to sm-
He put a hand up to stop me and shake his head.
"You don't need to remind me of your past mistakes. I was there, living them with you. You haven't resorted to your old ways yet. Good for you. But when you didn't show up in the parking lot earlier, Kenny thought you might've been out dr-
"But I wasn't. And you're the one that just said not to bring up my past mistakes, so don't you dare try. It's my business what I did or choose to do in my life. If you're going to be a dick about it, then screw you. I came here to have fun and get to know Jayce, so that's what I plan on doing." I say, cutting him off with a scoff.
"Hey, what's going on here? You guys have been huddled for a while now." Jayce suddenly says, wrapping an arm around me and eyeing Darrin with a small glare. Aw, is he still jealous? I can't lie and say that's not cute.
"Nothing. Let's go bowl, considering that's what we came here to do." I reply, kissing him on the cheek and leading him to our lane.

Apparently Jayce is pretty good at bowling. Way better than me and the guys because he came in first, right after teasing me about losing despite having 'man hands'. Jerk. I came in second place so I wasn't that bad.
