"So have you guys talked to Piper lately?" Darrin asks, coming back from getting a spare. Bowling nights rocked. I kind of wished Jayce was here, but he said he was busy today."I haven't, but to be fair, we were never really as close as you and Skylar were." Melanie says. I smile, but secretly wonder what's bothering her. One, she called me Skylar and two, she seemed to want to change the topic. Is it possible she's jealous of Piper? Likely because I feel like every girl was at some point, myself included. I should talk to her about it later. I know Melanie and I aren't close, but that doesn't mean I don't care about her.
"I haven't either, but she'll talk to me. No one can resist the Kenny." Kenny says cockily.
"I can think of a few people." I scoff, getting a high five from Darrin. "And to answer your question, I haven't either, but I've been kind of busy. I will soon though. Have you?" I ask, wondering what was up with the sudden question.
"Yeah. We've talked a bit. She misses you a lot Skye." He informs, giving me a sad smile. I take in the sudden slap of emotion that hits me and give a smile back.
"I miss her too. More than anything." I say softly.
"So...Melanie and I had this running bet. Any chance you two were ever, uh, you know, together?" Kenny asks, stupid smirk on his face. I slap him playfully and roll my eyes.
"I'm 100% straight you perverted monkey." I snap, but laugh.
"Monkey?" Darrin questions.
"I don't know. It was an on the spot insult." I defend, getting up to bowl. After getting down seven pins and getting shit from Darrin about it, I feel my phone buzz in my pocket. I swipe it out, seeing it's an unknown number.
'Hey Skylar.'
I scrunch my eyebrow in confusion. Who is this?
'Er, sorry. Who is this?' I send, smiling at the blue bubble, indicating they had iMessage. That was a good thing because I hated texting people that didn't have iPhones. Regular texting was just annoying.
I get a read receipt almost immediately and take a seat, getting ready to have a conversation.
'It's me, your friendly neighborhood Spiderman.'
I try not to laugh, but that was pretty funny/unexpected.
'Funny, but really, who is this?'
'I can be whoever you want me to be.'
This strangely reminded me of Kenny, but he was up to bowl so it couldn't have been him.
'XD are you always this charming?' I type.
'Only to the pretty ones.'
'You realize that you contradicted yourself.'
'Are you calling yourself ugly?'
'Maybe. Regardless, if I guess right, will you tell me who this is?'
'Hmm, seems fair. Alright then, but only if you guess exactly right. That means spelling, person, and all names I go by. If you even are a little bit off, I'll say it's not me.'
Well that seemed odd. I thought it might've been Jayce. Hm, better to guess anyways.
'Fair enough. Jayce?'
'No.'
'Jayce RIVERA?'
'No.'
