I watch as the sun disappears behind the trees and it begins to mist outside. I've been sitting on the couch staring out the sliding door, lost in thought about what happened earlier when I got out of the shower. I haven't mentioned what happened to Dominic or Etheriel and I'm not sure I should, it might have just been my imagination since the Enochian symbols disappeared. Plus I don't want to bother them since they still have four books to go through, including the only book in Enochian. They have yet find a book with something helpful in it, except Dominic did translate the book Michael got the poison recipe from. I unconsciously place my fingers where the blood was earlier.
"What are you doing?" Dominic's voice snaps me back from the trees outside. I slowly look at my finger tips then put my hand down.
"Nothing, just thought there was a eyelash or something tickling my cheek." I lie and even force a small laugh. I can see in his eyes that he obviously doesn't believe me, but he doesn't press any further and stares for a couple seconds before looking down at the old book in his hands. I get off the couch and shuffle across the carpet and into the kitchen. I scan through the fridge and see that Dominic bought a bunch of food other than bacon. Nothing sounds appetizing probably because I just can't get the situation that happened in the bathroom out of my head and it's taking up my thoughts. I decide to drink a glass of orange juice so I get the container and set it on the counter. I have to stand on my tip toes to reach a glass and when I finally get one, I start to pour orange juice into it. I stop mid-pour when I start to hear a low-high ringing sound and I notice my hand shaking like crazy. I turn and look out into the living room. They don't seem to hear anything and I remember what happened the last two times I heard the ringing. Instinctively I put a hand to my ear, pulling away expecting to see blood on my fingers, except there is nothing. The ringing gets slightly louder and my head begins to throb, making me lean against the counter. As fast as it started, it all stops. I don't hear the ringing anymore and now the only thing I hear is a page being turned. I shakily finishing pouring my drink and return to my spot on the couch. Etheriel glances up at me as I sit back down next to him and he immediately looks back up, looking concerned.
"What happened?" he questions. "You're so pale." Nathan and Dominic look up to and seem to also notice.
"You look shaken up." Nathan comments and I decide to tell them about the ringing I heard.
I look at Dominic. "I heard that ringing again..." Dominic understands immediately and his eyes shift to my ears. "But it wasn't as loud as the other times."
After checking to make sure I was okay, Dominic took me upstairs to rest. He leaves after five minutes of stroking my hair and staring at me and returns to helping Etheriel and Nathan. I stare at the dark ceiling, wanting to sleep except after what happened there is no way sleep will come. After two hours of lying in the dark, my bedroom door opens and I can barely make out Dominic enter. He climbs into the bed beside me and pulls me to his chest, starting to stroke my hair again.
"Are you done looking through the books?" I ask quietly.
He sighs. "No... They have one huge book left, but they have stopped for tonight because they know that, that is the book so Nathan is going to take it home tomorrow so Mihael won't have it anymore and they will look through it and figure out what he is doing once he returns." He replies and I nod silently, understanding. I know that the last book he is talking about is the only book that was in Enochian... Maybe I should have told them to look at it first.
"We all will do anything to protect you and won't let anything happen to you." He mumbles. A smile slowly spreads across my face from what he said. "I love you..." he mumbles quietly, surprisingly sounding shy.
