Chapter 21 - Date?

Kai sat on his bed, thinking about how should he visit Minji at the cafe.

He sighed out of frustration and walked out.

L was out as well. He was just walking around until he saw the familiar girl.

"Hey." He greeted.

The girl looked up, seeing the guys face.

L smiled at her.
"I've never thought I will meet you again."

The girl looked away.

"Anyway, I'm L. But you can call me Myungsoo." He said.

"Nice to meet you, Myungsoo-shi." She greeted.

L smiled again.

"What's your name?" He asked.
"Im Minji." She replied.

"That's a cute name for a cute girl like you." L said.

Minji giggled.

"Anyway, I have to go work. So excuse me." She said and walked away.

L watched her walked away and smiled.

She's quite cute. He thought.

Kai sat in the cafe, waiting for Minji. He sighed and started to lean back.

Minji came from the back door and put her apron on.

"Hey, Minji. We have a new employee today." Seoyeon said.

"Jinja?" Minji asked.

She nodded.
"And you might recognize her."

"Eh?"

A girl came behind from Seohyun and smiled.

"Krystal?"

She smiled.

"Long Time No See, Minji." She said.

The girls starts serving the customers drinks and food. Kai noticed Minji's appearance. And also Krystal's, which he didn't know.

"Hey." Krystal greeted.
"Hey." Kai mumbled.

Krystal smiled and noticed he wasn't making eye contact.

"How have you been for the passed 3 years?" She asked.

"Fine." He uttered.

Krystal hummed and looked for Minji.
Yes, she knows the story about him and Minji. Seohyun told her before she came back from the States.

Krystal walked up to Minji and whispered into her ear.

Minji gulped and nodded.

Kai didn't pay attention until he saw her sitting in front of him.

And...they were both quiet.

"So...um....how have you been?" Kai suddenly asked.

Minji gulped.
"Same as usual."

Kai gulped, nervously.

"Look. About that day...I'm sorry." He said.

Minji shook her head.
"It's okay. It's just that...you're scary when you're angry."

Kai sighed and looked at her.
"And about that---"

Minji cut him off.
"Don't mention about that day. Just forget about it."

Forget about it?! Kai thought.

"Minji...I know you've been avoiding me for the passed few weeks and I want to make it up to you. So, let's go on a...date." Kai said.

Minji's heart beat fast when he asked for a date.

"D-Date?"

Kai nodded.

"But where?" Minji asked.
"At Lotte World." Kai replied.

Minji thought about it for a while.
"I'll think about it." She said.

Kai nodded, since he's very patient with her.

"I need your number then." Kai said as he pulled out his phone.

Minji took his phone and typed her phone number.

"Thanks." Kai said.

Minji nodded.

"I'll text you tonight then. And you don't have to answer right away, Minji. Take your time." Kai added.

Minji nodded.

With that,Kai walked out of the cafe, feeling relieved.

"A date?!" Seohyun exclaimed.
"He asked you out?" Krystal asked.

Minji nodded. 

"What's your answer, Minji?" Krystal asked again.

"Molla. I told him I would think about it." Minji replied.

"Aish! Jinja? You're really something, Minji." Krystal groaned.

Seohyun sighed.
"Let her think about it."

Minji sighed and looked away.
"I'm just a replacement for him anyway."

Krystal and Seohyun looked at her speechless.

"How can you say that, Minji?" Krystal asked.

"It's true anyway." Minji mumbled.
Seohyun looked at her to continue, she then saw a tear drop fall on her cheek.

"I look like Yoona and really...I am a replacement for him." Minji added.

Krystal and Seohyun at each other and sighed.

Because....they didn't know what else to say.

"Minji, don't think like that okay? Just go on the date and see what happens between you and Kai." Krystal suggested.

Minji sighed and nodded.

And so, the text came at midnight and guess who was pacing around.

So...I've decided.

He smiled and text back.

To:???
From:???

Are you giving me your answer now?

Minji sighed and her heart fluttered he texted back.

To: ???
From: Minji

Ne. My answer is yes.

Kai never felt this way for 3 years.

To: Minji
From: Kai

Cool! Meet me at my place at 10am

Minji looked at the text and took a deep breath.
