"Kara, a-are you o-okay?" Paul asks behind me with worry. Adara must have gone a bit crazy. He sees me with that look. He looks at me but only sees a monster.
Well, I can't really blame him. I am a monster.
"I'm fine, actually great. So don't worry. Why don't you go sit down with Kate and Mich for a bit? Leave everything to me." I tell him with as much kindness my deep, husky voice could muster, which wasn't much.
He falls to the ground exhausted, breathing heavily. The poor little guy was fighting on fumes. I disappear from everybody's eyes to appear next to Sokaku. I pick him up and put him down next to Mich, Kate and Paul. Nadel, Sydney and David will have to hold on for a little bit longer until I take down Celsius.
I turn my attention to Alex. He is next. Don't worry, I'll try not to kill him. Alex steps forward, leaving Celsius's side, and I'm surprised to see a smile on his face. He takes off the brown jacket he is wearing and only a black button-up shirt is left. He bends down and I hear him breathing heavily. That's when it happens. The muscles in his shoulder start to get bigger and like wildfire the rest of the muscles in his body follow suit. He is now at least two or three inches taller. He rips off his black shirt and I see a large chest. The small belly he had is gone, a toned six-pack took it's place. I'm glad to see that he isn't making a move to rip off the baggy pants he has on. That would have been too much.
"Did you really think I was a weak little old man?" Alex says with pride. I hate to admit it, but I didn't know Alex could do such thing.
"Okay, so you got a six-pack. Very impressive. But it doesn't matter, I'm still going to kick your big ass." I smirk.
I see Alex start to get angry. He runs at me. He might be stronger, bigger and faster now but he still isn't faster than me. I step to the side and dodge his punch. This surprises him and it takes him a second to attack again.
I avoid many other punches with ease. I see how his stance changes and I know he is going to do a kick, aiming at my rib cage. By the time his foot is in the air I decide that I will not avoid it this time. I want to know just how strong he is right now.
I tense my arms to block and his foot makes contact with my skin. It burns. I underestimated his strength and the next thing I know is that I'm flying through the air. I crash against a tree trunk and pain soars through my body.
I hear Alex laugh with pride.
"You are arrogant when it comes down to your strength but you are just a weakling!" Alex yells with a huge smile. I turn to look at him.
I slowly stand up, shaking off the dirt and small pieces of wood. I see the surface of the tree, where I crashed against is destroyed. More than half of the trunk is missing. I push the tree and it brakes and falls to the ground making a crashing sound.
"My new strength is incredible! You will not be able to-" Alex starts off yelling. My claws in his stomach stop him. I shove my hand in further into his stomach. Alex spits dark blood. He looks down at my hand in utter surprise.
"It doesn't matter if you have some new strength, it will never be enough to beat me." My bright blue eyes stare at his eyes. I notice that they aren't glowing bright yellow.
I pull my hand out of his body and he crumbles to the ground. With my bare foot I move his leg a bit and hear him grunt. Okay, so he is still alive. Good.
I normal human being would have died with that wound. But Alex isn't a normal human being. An uneasiness spreads through my body. I don't shake it off. I bend down next to Alex and look at his wound. It isn't healing. Why isn't it healing?
