Castiel made sure Balthazar and Gabriel were okay before went back to his own room. They were mostly just shaken up, but Balthazar also had a bruise forming around his wrist where Michael was holding onto him too tight. He insisted he was fine, more to Gabriel than Castiel. I'm sure he's had worse playing sports...but still, not from his own brother.
Dean checked on Sam too, just to make sure he wasn't spooked too much. Sam said he was more worried about Gabriel while the whole ordeal was happening. Apparently they were asleep and woke up to the shouting, when they saw what was happening Gabriel started freaking out about Michael taking him away. Sam said he wasn't going to allow that to happen.
It was starting to get late and Castiel told his brothers to get some sleep.
Dean and Castiel went back to their room. At first Castiel was afraid Dean might say something about the situation (Castiel didn't want to talk about it...in fact he was quite happy not speaking about Michael ever again. He liked avoiding problems despite being aware of the problematic outcomes that can achieve). Then Castiel remembered that Dean had seen Michael act that way before, at the motel with the owner who did a piss poor job of making sure no one knew where they were. He's probably not surprised at seeing Michael yelling and being aggressive. Maybe a little more so at the fact he showed up where they lived.
When they got into their room Castiel sat down on the bed. Dean went over to his, but turned around and walked over to Castiel before he actually sat down. Castiel looked up at him.
"Hey, Cas?" Dean asked, stopping right in front of Castiel.
"Yeah?"
"You don't...believe...anything Michael said, right?" Castiel shook his head in confusion.
"What do you mean?" Dean stepped closer.
"Like what he said about you being weak and not being able to take care of your brothers. You don't believe that right? Because it's not true. You are strong, I've told you that before. And you're able to take care of your brothers. You make sure they get an education and all that. They need you. And they love you." Castiel felt heat travel to his cheeks.
"Thank you." Castiel whispered. Dean smiled and cupped his warming cheeks in both his hands.
"It's the truth, Cas. You're amazing." Dean leaned down and kissed Castiel gently. It was soft and warm and made Castiel feel loved. It was one of those kisses that almost force you to feel better...and Castiel loved it.
They ended up on laying next to each other on the bed, Castiel was silently doing all the homework he had to catch up on and Dean was on his phone.
"As your tutor I recommend you study for at least the English test, or the Math test, or you could do any of the other countless sheets of homework assigned." Castiel commented after he got through about a third of the homework he needed to complete. Dean glanced at him out of the corner of his eye.
"As my tutor?" Dean questioned, a smile on his lips . "Castiel I didn't know you were into role playing." Castiel nearly choked on air. He coughed and felt his face heat up. Dean started laughing loudly, he had to let go of his phone and he brought his hands up to his face. Castiel noticed that he laughed with his whole body, it's cute.
He's cute.
Dean looked over as he calmed down and saw Castiel's face. He smile widened and he nudged Castiel's shoulder.
"Joking, Cas."Castiel shook his head. "You're more of the bondage type, right?" Castiel's mouth dropped open and he elbowed Dean in the stomach.
"Dean Winchester!" He exclaimed. Dean laughed again.
"Kidding. Kidding." Castiel turned his head away, trying to hide a blush and a small smile. Dean wrapped his arms around waist. "Don't be mad, babe." Castiel turned to look down at Dean.
"Babe?" He questioned. Dean smiled, let go of Castiel and shrugged.
"Babe." Dean returned.
"That's a terrible pet name, Dean." Dean put on a fake expression of hurt.
"How dare you." Dean put a hand over his heart. "Babe is the perfect name." Castiel shook his head and turned back to his homework. "Okay, how about lovely? Darling? Honey? Sweetheart? Sweetie Pie? Beefcake? Baby? Castiel?"
"That one's just my name."
"I know but I always call you Cas, so it's different. Plus I like your name." Castiel blushed again.
"Whatever you say, babe." Castiel teased. Dean laughed and picked up his phone.
"You're cute, Castiel." Castiel paused for a brief moment, then shook his head and focused on his homework again, trying to ignore the heat in his cheeks and the boy beside him.
An hour later Castiel had finished most of his homework, enough of it at least to catch up with his classes, some of the homework was due at the end of the week so he put off the last sheets of different math problems and American History questions for tomorrow and study hall. He dropped his backpack and binders on the ground then looked over at Dean. He was sleeping. Shit.
He was actually very adorable when he was sleeping. His hair was in different directions and he looked peaceful.
I should go in the other bed, right? That would be best wouldn't it? Castiel wondered. I mean we just started dating...We are dating, aren't we? He calls me babe. And this is my bed, and he fell asleep. I should just stay. Actually I should turn off the light.
Castiel went to get up, stepping over his stuff, then suddenly there was a hand holding his. The touch was light and just barely holding him. "Dean?" Castiel questioned looking back. Dean's eyes were still closed and he seemed to be asleep still.
"Where are you going?" He asked. It was more a mumble mixed with a whisper. Castiel could only just hear the words. The voice was heavy with sleep.
"I'm turning off the lights." Castiel responded. Dean groaned and let go Castiels hand, turning his hand away and into the pillow. Castiel moved to the light switch, quietly flipping it off. Once the room was dark Castiel heard Dean's voice again.
"Come back to bed."
Castiel obeyed, walking over to the bed. He felt his heart quicken and he got into the bed.
Dean wrapped an arm around Castiel's waist as soon as he felt the mattress dip with the added weight. Dean moved closer and pressed his forehead in between Castiel's shoulder blades. Castiel felt his whole body warm up with the affection.
"G'night, Cas." Dean uttered, his breath hot against Castiel's back. Castiel shivered.
"Goodnight, Dean." Castiel returned quietly not sure if Dean was even awake enough to understand what he was doing. Still, Castiel wasn't going to tell him to stop.
He closed his eyes and tried to get his heart to stop beating so quickly.
Once he was settled he felt sleep come over him, but before he drifted off one last thought hit to him.
Why am I the little spoon?
