Dean could tell there was something wrong with Castiel. He was quieter and seemed more anxious, like he was afraid of his surroundings, which Dean knew was because of the whole ordeal with Michael and his brothers. Dean felt bad. He truly did, his boyfriend was suffering and Dean felt powerless to do anything about that.

Dean tried to help him, asked him if he needed anything, but truth was that Castiel felt he needed to do everything by himself. Sometimes Dean would ask Cas if he wanted to go out and do something other than school work, which Castiel was usually doing when he was at home (he was having trouble finding a balance between his education and his job), but Castiel was set on trying to make up everything he mixed when he was running away from his brother and taking painkillers.

Dean felt bad that he was upset Castiel was doing all these things. He's doing it to piece back together his family. He wants to keep his family together. Dean would tell himself he was being selfish for wanting to spend time with him. When he's working late he always sleeps in the other bed. Dean would say to himself. Is it because he doesn't like me?

One morning Dean woke up to find Castiel in the bed across from his. Dean sat for a moment, just staring at Castiel. He looked tired. Dean didn't like it. He seemed older. Adult things were being forced upon and he was trying not to crumble under the weight. Dean stood up and walked over to Castiel. He bent down and set a hand on his cheek, gently stroking his thumb across Cas' soft skin. Dean leaned over to kiss Cas on the forehead, moving to shake his shoulder a little. Castiel blinked awake, Dean smiled. "Hey, gorgeous." Castiel smiled back, but shook his head slightly.

"Dean, I've seen myself in the morning. There's no need to lie." Dean have a little chuckle.

"Not lying, Cas. You look beautiful even in the morning." Castiel laughed. "Now come on, we have to get ready for school." Castiel sat up and Dean went to stand up, but Castiel grabbed his shoulder, pulling him down a little more. Castiel kissed Dean's cheek at looked back at him.

"Are you growing a beard?" Castiel asked. He seemed confused, which Dean had to admit was pretty cute. Dean reached up and felt his chin. It was a little stubbly.

"I forgot to shave. Why? Does it look bad?" Castiel quickly shook his head.

"I actually like it." Castiel returned.

"Oh?" Dean smiled. "Maybe I'll keep it then." He stood up and helped Castiel to his feet. "C'mon, babe, school awaits." Castiel rolled his eyes and went to get dressed.

...

Today was one of Castiel's off days. That meant that Castiel was sitting at the kitchen table, textbooks and paper sprawled across the top, taking notes and memorizing useless facts. Castiel still looked tired, he would sigh and rub his hands across his face. Dean was also tired...tired of seeing Cas like this.

Dean walked to the table, pulled out a chair, and sat down. Castiel looked up, his face showed a little confusion, but he smiled at Dean.

"Hello." Castiel said warmly, turning back to his homework.

"I realized something," Dean returned instead of a greeting. Castiel glanced up.

"What's that?"

"We've never had a date. Like a real date, you know, dinner and a movie or something." Castiel smiled.

"Technically I've had dinner with you almost everyday this month."

"Just a movie then. Come on, Cas." Castiel looked down at his work, then back up at Dean.

"I have to get all this done."

"First, you're a genius as is. Second, you've been working yourself too hard." Dean stood up and moved to Castiel. He leaned down and placed a kiss on Castiel's lips. "You deserve a break." Castiel smiled at the kiss, but still had his eyes on the homework.

"I don't know, Dean." Dean stood up straight and put out a hand, offering it to Castiel.

"I'll help you with it when we come back."

Castiel looked up and smiled wider. He took Dean's hand and stood up, moving closer and placing a light kiss to Dean's cheek. "You know, I was suppose to be your tutor." Dean smiled and shrugged.

"Don't worry, I won't tell anyone."

They both walked from the kitchen, Dean was holding onto Castiel's hand, slightly swinging their hands between them. Castiel looked over at Dean.

"So, what are we going to see?"

"That new superhero movie just came out, do you want to see it?" Castiel nodded his head then walked to the impala with Dean.

...

The movie was good, at least from what Castiel actually paid attention to. He was more interested in the expressions Dean made. He was so excited. It never failed to amuse Castiel, he would have never believed what a huge geek Dean truly was if someone had told him earlier. Dean had held his hand the entire time, and whenever he was nervous for a character or when there was a happy scene he would subconsciously squeeze Castiel's hand.

After the show Dean drove them back to the house. During the drive Dean kept recounting the best moments of the movie. He's cute. Castiel thought to himself.

They pulled up to the salvage yard and got out of the car. Dean walked over to the front of the car and climbed up on top of the hood. Castiel followed and sat down next to him. Dean laid back while Castiel remained sitting up. Dean looked over at him. He smiled up at Cas, he extended his hand and patted it against the hood behind where Castiel sat.

"C'mon Cas, relax. Lay down." Castiel laughed.

"I can't image the metal is very comfortable." Dean pulled an exasperated face.

"How dare you!" Dean turned his face to the car, rubbing the hood gently. "Don't worry, baby. He didn't mean it." Castiel laughed again, but obeyed Dean's wish and laid down facing the green eyed boy.

Dean smiled at him, "How'd you like the movie?"

"It was good."

"Of course it was good, it was Captain America." Castiel smiled.

"That's true. And he's very handsome, which is a plus."

"Better looking than me?" Castiel smiled at Dean's question.

"Never. I don't know anyone quite as beautiful as you. Although you give off a very Steve Rodgers vibe." Dean grinned.

"Really? I was going to say you remind me of Bucky." Castiel furrowed his eyebrows.

"Oh, do I have a robotic arm?"

"No. But I'm pretty sure the captain and Bucky have a thing going on, you know?" Castiel chuckled.

"Definitely."

"So, if I'm Captain America, will you be my Bucky?" Castiel felt his cheeks heat up. He leaned in and kissed Dean on the lips softly. He smiled into the kiss, as did Dean.

"Of course." Castiel returned when he pulled away. "However I would like to forgo the brainwashing and trying to kill each other." Dean laughed.

"Yeah, we might want to try to avoid that part, but hey, I'm with you to the end of the line." Castiel felt his blush deepen. He brought himself closer to Dean and kissed him again.

"So am I."
