--------------------

Castiel had his first court hearing today... Michael was going to be there, but so were Gabriel and Balthazar. Dean had asked Castiel if he wanted him to come, to he court hearing , to which Castiel and told Dean that he definitely wanted him there. He wasn't sure how to proceed with any of this, in order to get emancipated Castiel had to have Micheal agree to relinquish his custody, or he had to have a cause that would warrant Castiel becoming an adult in the eyes of the government. Abuse is a good situation that could get me separated from Michael, but could I get Gabe and Balthazar back? That was what we cared about after all, if it was just me...if Gabe and Balth were okay it would be fine, I could handle it.

Sam wanted to come to the hearing, he said he missed Gabriel and Balthazar, Dean and Bobby were okay with him coming, as long as he didn't disturb anything.

Castiel wore nicer clothes. He couldn't wear a suit, none of the Winchesters had one that would fit, but Castiel still had on decent clothes. He wore a white button up shirt with a sweater over it and khakis. Castiel was also wearing a tie, he didn't know hoe to tie one though, so Dean ended up having to do it for him.

Dean's eyes were focused on the tie, his hands moving slowly. Castiel wasn't sure how comfortable Dean was with tying ties, he could've just been going slow because he was trying to remember the steps, but Castiel was almost sure Dean had something on his mind.

"Dean." Castiel voiced. Green eyes flicked up to meet Castiel's, his hands stalled and he gave a brief smile.

"Yeah, Cas?" Dean asked.

"Are you alright?" Dean laughed.

"Shouldn't I be asking you that? It's not my hearing we're going to." Castiel hummed and Dean went back to tying the tie.

"I know, but you seem like you have something on your mind." Dean finished the knot and tucked the end of the tie into Castiel's sweater. Castiel just stared at Dean as the boy ran his hand over the front of his shirt, straightening it out. Dean took a deep breath and looked at Castiel's face. There was a pause where they were just staring at each other, but then Dean broke it.

"Are you going to be okay?" Dean asked. Castiel was surprised by the question.

"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?" Dean seemed confused by Castiel's answer.

"You're going to see Michael."

"I've seen him before, Dean. Plus I get to see Gabe and Balthazar too." Dean frowned.

"I know, but Michael's just..." Dean sighed and looked down, then brought his gaze back up and seemed almost pissed. "Michael is such a dick." Castiel laughed. "He really is, Cas. I don't know how you could've lived with him. I've met him twice and I felt like punching him...actually I did kind of punch him both times, but still." Castiel smiled sheepishly.

"Yeah, sorry about that." Dean waved Castiel's apology off.

"I'd gladly fight anyone for you." Dean seemed so sincere that Castiel couldn't help but let a smile spread across his face.

"Oh, my hero." Dean smiled back and wrapped his arms behind Castiel's neck, moving a little closer, but still leaving an inch in between.

"Anything for my prince." Dean smirked and closed the last small amount of space in between them, pressing his lips against Castiel's.

Castiel saw Michael's car in front of the building. He was nervous...he was anxious, scared, panicky...I'm not ready for this. He stepped out of the car though. He put one foot out the door and felt the need crawl back in, Dean must have seen this because he grabbed Castiel's hand and pulled him closer to his body.

It's okay.

Castiel stepped through the hallway and heard his name shouted. The sound echoed off the walls and Castiel looked for the source. It was Gabriel, he ran up to Castiel and threw his arms around his middle, almost knocking the older boy over. Castiel hugged back and steadied himself.

"Hey, Gabe."

Gabriel didn't respond, he just squeezed harder. Castiel looked up and saw Balthazar walking towards him. Castiel smiled and Gabriel pulled back, Castiel went over to Balthazar and pulled him into a hug. It was shorter than Gabe's, but it was still a relief  to Castiel.

They're okay.

Castiel turned around and saw Sam giving Gabriel a hug. Castiel smiled at them. When Sam pulled away from Gabe he sighed.

"It's been torturous without you," Sam said. "I've seen things, Gabriel." Dean glared at Sam and rolled his eyes.

"Oh please, it was a kiss, and it only happened twice." Balthazar and Gabriel turned toward Castiel, who could only blush in return. Balthazar laughed, followed by Gabriel and Sam, then Dean...even Bobby cracked a smile, but Castiel was still a little shocked.

"So, how's it been guys?" Dean asked. Castiel snapped out of his trance, he'd almost forgotten to ask, and this was one of the few times Castiel would actually get to see his brothers. He turned his gaze to his brothers, Gabe and Balthazar were looking at each other.

"It's been..." Balthazar trailed off with a frown. Castiel's heart almost stopped beating- did Michael do something? I swear to god if he hurt them...

"...weird." Gabriel finished.

"What do you mean?" Castiel asked.

"It's like Michael's trying to convince us he's changed or something, but you can tell he hasn't." Balthazar told them. Gabriel nodded his head.

"I don't like it there. I want to be with you, Cassie." Gabriel added. Castiel smiled.

"Tell that to the judge, kid. Along with any other incriminating thing you have on Michael. By what I've heard and seen I'm sure you could say a lot." Bobby cut in. The two boys nodded their heads and turned towards the court doors.

"I don't want to be on his side." Gabriel cringed. Castiel put a hand on his brother's shoulder, and let out a shaky breath.

"It won't be much longer." Castiel tried to assure him. "I promise." Gabriel nodded his head and they started walking to the double doors of the court.

Castiel opened the door and the first thing he saw was Michael's face staring right at him.

It's time...
