Life is like any other day. You go to work, earn the money, then go home. It's always been like that for a long time for you. Of course, during your free time, you would do other things like go to the grocery store, walk around in the city, and collect things that interest you. Some people would call you a hoarder but you believe that anything can be something beautiful, inside and out. And it's not that you collect trash like used cans and napkins. You like to make things that are unwanted into wanted materials. You dreamed of becoming a creative inventor in the future when you were young, however, your current lifestyle is blocking you from pursuing it. For a little while, you seem to have forgotten that dream of yours and continued on with your usual schedule. You just decided to see your abstract ability as a hobby.
It was a Sunday morning and you have a day off of work. You decided to search for rocks nearby a river in your hometown. As you approached the river, you sat down and watched the water flow in unison. You remembered that one summer day where you recreated a broken clock using quarters and pennies. They made an astounding alarm for the clock, which was put to good use.
As you dug your hands into the muddy dirt below the water, you can feel the rough texture buried in. It felt solid and thick that you couldn't dig your nails into the object. It wasn't buried too deep, and it wasn't hard to miss if you look closely in the water. As you leaned in close, you could feel it attached to something but you couldn't tell.
"This must be some kind of deformed rock." You commented as you quickly pulled it up.
As soon as you acquired it, you were quite surprised that it wasn't really a rock but a mechanical arm.
"How did you get here?" You wondered as you waved it around. It seemed strange that you have found something like this in the river. Nonetheless, you believed that there are more parts out there in the river. You set the amputated arm on the grass and rolled up your pants. You stepped into the shallow river and searched for more parts. You figured maybe you can put it back together if you were to find more of it. As soon as you made your way under a bridge, you stepped on something, causing you to fall forward.
"Ohhh.... There goes my pants." You spoke to yourself as you recovered by standing on your knees.
You looked back to see something in the water. As you stood back up, you approached to it and pulled it up. It did seem heavy at first but as you continued to use your muscles, you quickly released it when you see a human-like face appear out of the water.
"Holy crap."
You stopped for a moment to see that its eyes were closed. It seemed to be a male. His hair is blonde and his entire body was made of....
"How strange.... Looks like a human android..." You thought as you continued to pull it up and drag it to rejoin the lost arm and the body.
As you lay the body across the ground, you attempted to reattach the arm. You see that it belonged there. You've collected many things during your lifetime, but never a robot.
"Why would someone just throw away an android? So much effort and hard work has been put into this." You spoke.
"Well, I guess I can keep you. Since no one is claiming ya."
You decided to take the android back home with you. Unfortunately, you came a long way but when you finally reached to your apartment, you set down the newly found "robot" outside of your porch to let it dry out. The sun was still out so you hoped that you're able to work on fixing the robot at night. Since you couldn't do anything to rejoin the arm and the body, you decided to take the arm inside. For many hours, you spent the day studying on how the arm works and utilize. You dismantled the parts of the arm used a cloth to wiped any dirt or water from the inside out. You hummed to yourself as you studied the arm. Maybe one day you can fix the robot to help you do things. Wouldn't hurt to have a live robot in your house, right?
