After a couple months had passed during the time you were in the hospital. The nurse who had given you so much kindness and sympathy was willing to push you out to the exit doors at the front. You were finally discharged from the building. Unfortunately, your broken leg was still healing so you'd be stuck in a wheelchair for the time being. Overall, you finally recovered but you didn't feel satisfied. After you had been released, you went to your new home in another apartment. The place was pretty peaceful and nice, just like your old one. You almost forgot that you exchanged all that money you saved up along with your dad's artifacts just to own a home and pay for the destruction of the old apartment. You took one look at the building and decided to go inside your room. You had difficulty doing it on your own yet you wanted to show that you could do things on your own so people wouldn't come and take pity on you.
Nonetheless, you decided to spend your remaining time outdoors in the open. You needed to clear your clouded mind with fresh air. As you awkwardly strolled down the streets, you looked around to see nothing familiar. You were in a foreign location and it did not feel like home at all. Some people offered to help you cross streets or go downhill but you refused. You failed to keep people away from helping you since they felt bad for your bandaged eye. It was a vibe that signaled them to come and give you their assistance, thinking you were a crippled young woman who is incapable. Honestly, you became cranky afterwards.
The city lights lit up the dim night as you entered the crowded society, watching people come and go as you sat by a fountain statue. You were starting to feel better already. Bystanders would constantly look at you and eventually leave on their own time. You wanted to leave your wheelchair to walk but you know you couldn't. Plus your foot fell asleep. Your arms were getting tired but that's why you were there, peacefully sitting by the statue.
Later on, you noticed how dark it became at night. You remembered that you came a long way from your new home. It would take at least and hour or so to get back so you started strolling again to return home. You randomly hummed a tune as you waited for the lights to signal your cue to cross the busy streets. As soon as you see the sign, it was safe to cross the street. You pushed your wheels forward, you felt a faint light glowing brighter on the side of your face. You quickly looked to see an incoming car honking its horn and it wasn't slowing down. You knew you wouldn't be able to get out in time so, you covered your face. People were shouting and screaming for you to watch out, but how will that help? You expected pain to come your way yet, it did not. Everyone began to crowd over the scene. You uncovered your eyes to see smoke seeping from the hood of the car, as if something was burning inside. Something had stopped the car from coming your way.
"You nearly killed me you idiot!! Do you not see the red---" You were cut off when you saw a dark figure walk towards you and away from the smoked car. The shining light was too bright for you to depict the person but as he came close, you blinked a couple times.
"No, it can't be.........."
