Technical Difficulties (Oblivious!Genos X Reader)

Repeated Phase

  It's been a week since you last saw Genos. You felt cold and empty, like a part of you just wasn't complete like before. You sat down and sighed, feeling depressed, eating snacks that you bought from the huge sale. That was the last time you went grocery shopping with him. Everything reminded you of him and it saddened you each time you thought of him. You decided to eat your heart out, attempting to heal yourself with a small bucket of ice cream and frozen whip cream. You felt left out, lonely, ostracized as you ate. No one talked to you. You were home alone today. No shifts. Nothing moved. No sound was heard. It's quiet. You wore your over sized sweater to keep yourself warm and snug along with a pair of slippers.

You remembered everything clearly. Saitama taking Genos away from you. Saitama thanking you, leaving you lonely at night.

"You know what! Pull yourself together! You did do a good job staying all by yourself without him!"

You attempt to converse with your self esteem.

"Plus you have a lot of space in your bed now so you can lay around all you want without a care in the world.~"

You laugh to yourself.

"You get to eat more food now that he's not around anymore!"

You smiled and scoffed, jabbing the big spoon in the patch of ice cream.

"He won't follow you around anymore. You're free."

You forced a smile.......



Who are you kidding? You couldn't keep it up.

"I should be happy that I won't have to worry about him.'

You sniffed, clutching onto the bucket.

"The place is so quiet and cold nowadays. It's so lonely here."

You grabbed your spoon and dug a huge block of ice cream, stuffing your mouth as your tears escaped. You wailed in a muffled sound as you curl up in a ball, hugging the now empty bucket of ice cream.

"Who the hell am I supposed to talk to? W-Why can't I.....??"

You realized that you had done this kind of thing before. You were used to being alone until Genos appeared in your life. Strange, he was only with you for a short period of time yet he made an influence in your life. He was like a family to you. A precious member.

You took a deep breath and closed your eyes, trying to calm down and cope.

"I did the right thing. I did the right thing. I did the right thing...." You chanted.

"I gotta stay strong. I just gotta stay strong....." You couldn't stop your tears from falling. You didn't want to cry yourself to sleep as usual. Things had been a little uneasy ever since he returned home to his true family.

"Jeezes why the hell is it so cold in this room?" You sniffled, rubbing your runny nose.

You made your way to your bed, pulling your sheets up to your chin.

"It's still morning. Who cares?....." You wiped your tears and groaned as you snuggled and stirred in your bed.

A couple hours of waiting around in your bed finally puts you to sleep until....



You hear a faint voice from afar...


"Shhh. You'll wake her up."
