"Hey look, sweetie! There's a shooting star! Go on, make a wish!"
"Okay!"
You closed your eyes and knitted your fingers together, making sweet whispers of your greatest desires. You took a deep breath and opened them, staring into the night sky.
"Isn't it beautiful, (name)?"
You felt your father's warm hand gently patting your back as you nodded in agreement.
"It's like a million lights!" You threw your hands up excitedly.
"You're right." He laughed.
"So what'd you wish for?"
"I'm not supposed to tell you!" You answered playfully.
"Aw darn! You're right again." He lowered his head in defeat.
"How about we make a deal?" He offered.
"What is it?" You wondered.
"If I tell you what I wished for, will you tell me yours? Just this once."
You looked back at the stars, then to your father.
"Uhmmmm okay!" You agreed.
"Alright, come here." He brought you close to him, taking you by the hand.
"I wish that I can see my daughter smile everyday." He whispered in your ear.
"That's your wish?" You quirked an eyebrow, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"Yep. Now, your turn." He replied.
"I wished that I can be with daddy forever." You whispered.
"Aw, sweetie of course you will!" He chuckled, embracing you as your returned the same gesture.
"No matter what (Name), you'll always be my little girl."
You slowly opened your eye, realizing that you were back in your own home. Your hands were clutching onto the bed sheets as tight as they could. You felt tensed up as you got up. You yawned, looking around to feel the warmth surrounding you. For some reason, you didn't feel the cold chill that sent shivers down your spine every night. You sighed and jumped off your bed. Your leg was starting to feel better after a couple more weeks passed. You wrapped a new bandage around your lost eye, refusing to glance at the hollowness of your socket. Today was another day.
You checked the fridge to see that you were running low on food supplies. You groaned as your stomach grumbled. You closed the fridge and walked over to the window. The day was nice as usual. You quickly watched the news to see that most of the cases have been solved by the S-class heroes.
"Oh, great. I can go outside in peace." You sighed.
As you got out of the house for the first time in a month, you cautiously walked out and locked your door. You slowly took each step since your leg recently healed. No one seemed to acknowledge your existence in which you didn't mind at all. You made your way to a couple stores in the cities, assuring that you can get a fridge full of food.
Regardless of the number of bags you were carrying, you casually strolled through the city in search of more cheap food. That was when people started caring about your well-being, asking you if you needed any help carrying the heavy bags. You turned each and every person down, telling them that you can manage. Suddenly, a man accidentally bumped into you, causing your things to fall from your hands.
"Aw, c'mon!" You glared at the man who bumped you. He took one glance at you, then carried on like usual.
It was embarrassing, having cans of food roll away from you as you tried to chase every one of them. No one took the effort to help you. If anything, some of your groceries were stolen and taken away by bystanders who took the chance when you weren't looking. Some people noticed and pitied you yet, they didn't care to tell you. You scrambled around the area, gathering your things in the crowd.
"How am I going to get all of this?" You asked yourself, nearly giving up.
Before you could pick up your can of peaches, You witnessed a hand take it before you.
"Here you go, miss--"
You looked up to see the man you always admired. Your jaw slackened, feeling your cheeks heat up in humiliation. You froze in fear, not wanting to meet your idol, Mumen Rider, looking like this. You quickly turned away and covered your face.
"(Name)? Is that you?"
You stood still and hesitated to answer.
"Y-Yeah." You nodded, picking up your bags of groceries.
"What happened to your eye??" He rushed to you, handing you the can.
"I had a small accident but I'm totally okay. It'll heal, don't worry about it--"
"Please! Allow me to help you." He offered, holding your wrist to stop you from leaving.
"No, it's okay, really." You laughed anxiously.
"Here, you dropped a couple more things." The kind young man quickly picked up the items you missed.
"Thank you." You replied.
"Oh, don't you worry! I got your back, (name)!" He announced.
You knew that you couldn't get rid of Mumen Rider. Especially him. Last time he saw you, you were with Genos. Since it's been awhile, you knew that Mumen Rider was planning on catching up to you on your story so far. You sighed, shaking your head while you covered your left eye, allowing Mumen rider to follow you from behind while carrying half of your groceries.
"So, what have you been doing lately, (Name)?"
