We were at the house of the person that sent out the ad and I had a grasp of what was going on. Basically, this is a huge family, and two sides of it want this important enchanted book that no one really knew what it did, but it was supposed to be really important. Now the two sides of the family were fighting over it.
"It's been in our family for centuries." A woman cried. "What is your part in this feud?" I asked. "I'm the joining point. My mother and father's sides are the sides fighting for the book. I want you to find the book and destroy it, then bring me the remains." She said and we nodded.
"Pardon me, but 'find' it?" Jellal asked. "Oh yes, the book is lost. That's what they're fighting over. The side that finds it first will be the dominate side of the family." She said and my brow furrowed. "I'm sorry, do families actually fight over this? Or is it just you guys?" I asked and she laughed. "It's just them being insane." She said and I nodded.
"Well we're on it! Let's get to it." I said and Jellal stood next to me. "Any idea where it might be?" He asked. "Probably one of the crypts or tombs. My ancestors fought over it as well." She sighed, leading us to a tomb. "We won't rest until we've found it." I assured her and we went down into the crypt, below the tomb.
I held my hand out and took a breath. "Master told me not to do this, but oh well." I shrugged and closed my eyes.
"Come on Eileen
Oh, I swear what he means
At this moment
you mean everything
You in that dress
My thoughts I confess
Verge on dirty
Oh, come on Eileen."I sang out, forcing magic into the words. Nothing came flying forward, so I sighed. "It's not here." I said and we went on to the next one, and I tried again.
Five times I tried until a book came hurling at me and Jellal caught it before it crashed into me.
We went and showed it to the girl. "That's it!" She exclaimed. "You sure you want it burned?" Jellal asked and she nodded. I held it in both my hands and lit the book on fire. "Can't get more destroyed than this." I hummed as there was now a pile of ashes in my hand.
She smiled and held out two envelopes to us. "Your pay. And I have something for you." She said and handed me a small box. "Don't open it until you get home." She said and I nodded. "Uh... what do you want me to do with this?" I asked, referring to the ashes. "Just put them on the table." She shrugged, so I did, then we left after one last thank you from her.
"So it took us two days to get here, and it's now going to take us two days to get back." I sighed.
"Seems that way. Problem?" Jellal asked. "Nah, just gives my team more time to get pissed at me." I hummed.
