Edward's POV
The day had passed and I had barely seen Leah. She'd disappeared so I could break the news of our engagement to Bella privately. I knew she hadn't traveled too far because her scent still hummed in my nostrils but after Bella started to shed tears it vanished. It was just midnight and her aroma drew me to her. I followed it to the garage and found my Leah as she sat in her car picking at the steering wheel. She looked up at me and back down at her fingers. Her thoughts attacked me like a storm.
She's in so much pain.
Maybe we should wait.
Maybe she right.
What are we doing?
Maybe it's too fast?
We could wait.
Edward, what are we doing?
Are you sure? ARE YOU SURE?
She broken ... just like I used to be, but nowhere near as strong.
She'll hurt herself.
Edward, what are we doing?
Maybe I'm wrong ...
I got into the car with her and she peaked at me throw her eyelashes.
"Where do you wanna go my Love?" I asked as I looked at her shaking hand it appeared she was about to turn the key.
"I've been sitting here ... trying to muster up enough selfless ness to leave you," she whispered as a tear dropped down her cheek. "Apparently, I'm not as selfless as you thought I was." I released a sigh of relief.
"Good. Let me tell you something else that may help you in your decision making process if you run away from me Leah Clearwater, I will spend the rest of my existence chasing you. I'm not very selfless either," I chuckled and she offered me a sad half smirk. I went to grab her hand but she moved it away from and cleared her throat.
"I have been thinking," she started.
"I know and I'm very concerned," I interrupted her and she glared at me.
"I'm not going to flaunt our relationship in her face. I know what that's like. I would rather just leave and then when your family is done here we can reunite," she explained. "However, each time I try to start my car memories of you attack me and I feel like leaving you would be the worst mistake I've ever made."
"We could both leave," I offered.
"I would feel bad making you leave you family," she explained.
"Well, don't leave and we can just be friends until we move," I blurted out this idea desperately hoping she would shut it down. She snorted and offered me a look of disbelief.
"Yeah because that would work," she said sarcastically. She took a frustrated sigh and hopped out of the car and I followed suit. She was still in her jogging suit from this morning. Spandex really did suit a body like hers. I finally broke my gaze from her body and made eye contact with her amber eyes. She saw fit to roll them at me.
"That's how we started ... just friends," I spouted my nonsense and shoved my hands in my pockets.
"And for most of that friendship I wished Bella never existed," she responded honestly. "I thought it was just transference at first, but when my feelings became so much more than anything I'd ever experienced. I knew ... and I know still that I can never leave you," she uttered the last bit softly and seemed a bit tortured. She was vulnerable and beautiful. I placed myself in front of her and she crossed her arms over her chest.
"Here's how I see it Leah, we either leave together or stay here together. Like I said before I'm not going to just let you leave me. I'm not going to let you hurt us just to appease Bella. So what's your choice?" I pulled my hands from my pockets and pulled her to me by her waist. "What's your choice Leah?" I murmured as I rubbed my nose against hers. The special tingle that only gives danced around my whole face.
"Edward," she whispered before surrendering her wall. She uncrossed her arms and wrapped them around my neck. She kissed me softly and I met her passion happily. As our passion grew I lifted her to work table and unzipped her jacket.
"Stop trying to leave me Leah," I whispered as I pulled her jacket off her shoulders and kissed the crook of her neck. She moaned softly and leaned into the feel of my lips against her. I allowed my hands to explore her body and squeeze gently on some of her more desirable parts. She cradled my face in her hands and drew my mouth back to hers. I deftly lifted her sports bra and massaged her nakedness. I broke our kiss and took a moment to just witness her beauty. She finished the task of removing her bra and led my hands back to her flesh but my mind had been distracted by something.
"Edward?"
"I know Leah," I whispered as I smoothed my fingers along her abdomen and toyed around her belly button. "I just ... I'm thinking about our conversation and what was best. We should leave and meet back up with the others in a few years." I hooked my pointer fingers into her pants and pulled them down.
"I would feel guilty," she panted she lifted her pelvis to help me in my endeavor to undress her. "Can we revisit this conversation after?" She asked as she began to unbutton my shirt. I chuckled darkly.
"After what? Maybe I just wanted to undress and admire you?" She rolled her eyes and shook her head. She pushed me away gently and hopped off the table.
"Okay well you've done that so I can get dressed," she teased as she bent over to grab her pants from the garage floor. I snaked one of my arms around her from behind and unzipped my pants with the other hand.
"Now this position may be perfect," I murmured in her ear before kissing her shoulder.
"For what? Not for admiration I'm sure," she chuckled and then groaned as I entered her without warning. My movements were slowly and methodical. Leah wasn't a fan of slow but at times I was. I enjoyed lingering and delayed gratification. She whimpered and whined as I continued my slow assault.
"Edward please," she begged softly.
"I know Leah, you want it faster but I just want to revel in you ... to feel every bit of you gripping every bit of me," I whispered with each thrust. "Don't leave me," I groaned and I inadvertently began to move faster.
"No, never." She threw her head back and searched for my lips. My hands at chests and then at her hips. I moved even faster within her and she cried out. I broke our union for only a second to turn her around and reenter her. I wanted to watch her as she came undone. Her eyes were clamped shut as I continued with a steady rhythm she would love.
"Look at me Leah ... look at me baby," I groaned and her darkened amber eyes caused my release almost instantly and Leah followed behind me only seconds after. I buried my head in her shoulder and she ran her fingers through my hair.
"I know it's not midnight Edward but ...are you ready to run with me?" She asked and I looked up at her and smiled. I kissed her passionately. This would start a new chapter and even though we were leaving. If like it was the best thing we would do for everyone.
