Julian's eyes appear barely opened, but I notice that he's completely asleep. For a second taking a shower crosses my mind but I decide against it, since it's not my apartment. When did I start being this well educated? Guess I'm growing up. Finally. Okay, maybe at 27 I'm more like growing old than anything else. Damn, I just remembered that I told myself I would start reading history books when I hit 25. Meh, guess it can wait until the big 30 ship arrives.
I gotta get my stuff today, or at least my laptop and tablet. I have some stupid work due for tomorrow and I haven't even thought about the idea or the concept.
I check my phone to discover it's 9:46 AM. I notice I have some notifications from different social media but my finger automatically locks the screen before I can read anything. Whatever. I carefully remove Julian's hand from my hipbone and he rolls to the other side of the bed taking all the sheets to himself.
I sigh contemplating my possibilities. If I let him sleep I'm not really gonna do anything here, I won't go through his kitchen. Even though I'm starving.
Well, damn, it's late anyway.
"Jules" I whisper. He groans and folds his pillow over his head.
"Julian" I say wrapping my right arm around him, over the white sheets. I fucking hate it when people are hard to wake up. I like that about him anyway, I'm discovering new things about him, it's nice to know him better. Even if they're little unnecessary things.
"Mhmm.." He rolls to my side and opens an eye then closes it again. "You're here" he speaks, letting it out as a whisper-morning groan.
"Yeah.. I'm hungry" I sigh tangling my fingers in his bangs. He stirs and wraps his left arm around me to bring me closer to him.
"Well..." he says nuzzling his nose in my neck. I stay quiet enjoying the feeling of his body against mine. Calm. I never thought this would happen. I've never even consider this happening.
"...I have something for you to eat" Julian mutters taking me by surprise. "Just kidding" he adds with a breathy laugh in a response to my confused look.
"Fool" I laugh nuzzling in his chest. I can hear his heartbeat. "Still hungry tho"
"Alright, let's grab some breakfast" he suggest.
"Or brunch" I mock him remembering how much he hates the concept of it.
"Um.. yeah maybe we..."
"I'm joking" I say looking up at him. He smiles relieved.
After a few more minutes of fooling around we decided to get up. Even though Julian insisted on us going to some place for breakfast I refused because I couldn't think straight until I ate whatever, so I wasn't able to decide a place for us to go. We stayed. He made me waffles.
You know when people ask: 'Do you still love Subject 1?
And some people are like: 'Of course I love Subject 1, how can you unlove?'
But I'm actually like: 'Hell yeah I can unlove some motherfucker, you screw with me, you're out'However, watching Julian make me waffles moved something inside of me that's making me think that my 'Unlove' button has suddenly been dissolved in body fluids.
"Was it any good?" He asks me taking a sip of his orange juice.
"Very" I struggle to answer as I chew on my last piece of heavenly waffle. "Best waffles ever" I add once I swallowed.
"That can't be true" he says resting his chin on the palm of his right hand.
"Okay, but how many times do you eat waffles prepared and served by an incredibly hot, sexy, good-looking dude? I mean, that makes it the best breakfast ever" I defend standing up from my chair. He bites his lower lip, rises his eyebrows and shakes his head, he thinks I'm mocking him. "What? It's true! Just take the compliment and shut up"
