Vampire Stalker

I open the door and run towards the man that is laying on the road. It's dark, quiet and woody so I can't ask anyone else for help.

'Are you OK?!' I desperately ask as I run towards the man. Then I see him getting up like nothing happened and he turns around to me.

'ZACH?!' I wonderingly ask.

"It wasn't really nice of you to hit me, was it?" Zach asks very neutral.

I look back to Alissa and notice she's recoiling from horror and then she stiffens.

"Y-YOU.." Alissa stutters.

"Me?" Zach says as he went his head awry and carefully walks towards her.

When I look at Alissa, I see she is walking backwards, as if she is scared of him. I slightly understand that, because you know.. Zach is.. Zach.

'Stay away from her, she doesn't know anything and you're scaring her' I yell.

He stands still and turns around to me. "She knows more than you think, you know.."

Then Zach suddenly stands behind Alissa with his hands on her shoulders.

"Don't you, Alissa?" Zach says.

She tries to rip herself off of him, but in vain.

'What do you want from her?!' I yell.

"Let me show you something" He says and he turns Alissa around to him.

"What do you know of me, and be honest." He asks as he looks straight into her eyes.

There is a moment of silence but eventually Alissa responds back to Zach.

"You're the person that appeared in the restroom back in the police station, a vampire" She neutrally replies.

I look surprised up to Zach: how did she know?

"And what is your first idea of vampires?" He asks afterwards.

"They must all die". She responds.

He looks at me "Do you see the problem here?"

I remain silent and I feel myself stiffen a little.

Zach continues asking: "Would your opinion change if for example, Mandy was a vampire?"

I see a shred of doubt in her face. "Yes, she too, must die in that case". Alissa admits under mind control.

I'm speechless.. and just look forward to them.

Zach points at Alissa "She said it, not me".

Then his eyes turns black. Exactly the same as when he attacked the woman at the cycle. I recognize the situation and that makes me freaked.

I need to distract him, I can't really fight him..

'W-why are your eyes black?!' I anxiously ask.

He looks at me: "Well that means I'm either hungry or angry. In this case, it's hunger. So if you don't mind I'd like to take a sip of your friend, unless you are offering, of course". He responds.

'Why the weird black eye thing?' I keep asking.

Zach sighs. "Look, I don't ask what that whale sound of that stomach of yours either is, now do I?"

He turns around to Alissa, that is still under his mind control. Then I see him making a move that is already crystal clear to me: he's going to kill her..

'WAIT! Don't hurt her, please!' I beg.

He turns around to me. "You really want to save your friend that just honestly admitted, that she would rather kill you, than give you a chance to meet the vampire-you?".

As I carefully walk over to Zach, that is still holding Alissa, I answer his question maybe a little too honest: 'Yes, because I'm not like you. I'm no heartless blood-sucking monster. And no hair on my head that there on thinks,*=(no way) that I let Alissa die. She is my best friend and I will always look out for her and protect her, at all costs!'.

Zach drops Alissa and now comes at me. "Look who has gotten all courageous". He says and before I could blink he stands right in front of me putting away a lock of hair behind my ear.

What do I have to do now? He is standing right in front of me, I should do something! So I clench my fists and hit him in the face as hard as I possibly could. It doesn't seem to affect him. I only see his eyes turn black again

"Now I'm angry". He admits.

Despite of him having black eyes now, and that he obviously made clear to me that he is hungry and now even angry at once, I could see through his eyes that he is doubting whether to hurt me or not. He eventually chose the most obvious one:

I felt a gust of wind, and Zach was gone.

I immediately run towards Alissa to check if she's OK. She still seems to be a little confused, which I duly understand.

'He's gone now Alissa, nothing to be worried about' I say to reassure her.

I help her walk to the passenger seat of the car and drive away towards Alissa's home.

I drive up Alissa's driveway and stop.

'Do you want me to stay with you for a while, Alissa?' I gently ask.

"I'll be fine.. I guess" She replies. I know she isn't fine for sure, I can read it off of her depressed-like face.

'If you need me, I'll be there. Even at midnight' I make clear.

She nods, looks at me and then gets out of the car. I drive away from her driveway and head home. An ambulance with sirens is rushing by. Another "accident"..

I sigh.

I arrive at home and park my car in front of the house. I get out of the car and walk towards the front door. As I open the front door, I see my mum sitting on the couch babbling, with..

'Zach?!'
