<MASONS'S POV>
Zach looks thoughtful to the ground. "I might be better off wearing another shirt then." He says, looking at his white shirt which is covered in blood.
I nod. "That will surely be the first and best thing to start with."
"OK." He says, and then walks away to change.
I head the other way, through the door we came through. I sit down on the table right in front of Mandy. She had already seen me coming.
'Where's he?' She asks as she's nervously looking around. "He'll be right back." I respond, to deflect her question a little.
'He's coming back?!' She asks, startled.
I carefully grab her shoulders to calm her down. "You don't..."
But she doesn't let me finish what I wanted to say. 'No... no! Y-you can't let him come back again. He's going to... I don't want him here, please don't let him, Mason... Please!' She begs, talking fast and looking panicked.
"Mandy. It's going to be OK. Trust me on that." I say, trying to look into her eyes, but she keeps looking around her. "Mandy." I repeat to get her attention again.
She looks panicked at me.
"Have you heard what I said?" I ask to make sure she heard me.
'Yes. It's going to be fine you said. But it's not, Mason. He... he scares me.'
I shake my head when she finishes talking. "Do you trust me?"
'Yes, ofcouse I do.' She responds, looking serious.
"Then trust me: You're going to be fine." I say, calm.
At that moment I see Zach, walking in. I gesture he shouldn't approach her from behind and then look at Mandy again. Zach walks around her, as far from her as possible and then stands still, where she can see him. When she looks up at Zach, she startles. She immediately sits in a way where she is ready to run, while she keeps being alert on Zach.
"Mandy." I say, looking at her.
When she looks at me, I gesture it's going to be fine. But she immediately looks back at Zach again.
Zach slowly approaches Mandy. She seems to have heard me, and bravely sits still. But at the moment he's standing five feet away from her, her heartbeat raises enormously.
'Stop. Please. Not closer.' She clarifies, looking scared.
He immediately does what she says, and stands still.
The phrase 'He won't bite' pops in my mind, but this isn't really the moment to crack jokes.
"He's not going to hurt you." I softly say.
Zach now approaches Mandy even slower than he did. I notice her heart is pounding. Eventually Zach sits down next to her, they look straight into each other's eyes.
"See?" I say, looking at them. "He's not going to hurt you."
<MANDY'S POV>
At the moment I look into his eyes, I feel scared. But suddenly, after a few seconds, I see how much he loves me. I see he would rather die himself, than having to kill me. I don't know how, but all these good things just came back in. All the fear... gone.
I hug him right away. 'I'm so sorry!' I say, feeling guilty.
I feel he puts his arms around me. "It's OK, Mandy. You're fine." He says, elated.
A minute ago, I would've been terrified being so close to him again. But now... now I just feel so incredibly safe around him again.
'The dream... it just felt so real. At least, I was highly convinced it was. I'm just so...'
