<MANDY'S POV>
'Thank you'. I say, standing on the porch looking straight into his eyes.
He nods friendly, and it looks like he's calmed down again. "No problem".
For a few seconds it becomes quiet between us. 'I think I got to go inside. It's late and I'm really tired..'
"I understand." He says, nodding. "You have a good night and if there is even one person bothering you, I'm here. In a heartbeat."
I smile, feeling like the safest person on earth. 'Thanks.'
I really don't know what else to say... only that I want him to stay the night. The situations lately make me afraid. What if even in my own house something happens? I'll be alone. I think, not having the balls to ask it.
When he turns around and walks to his car the courage of asking him peaks. 'Wait'. I say, softly.
He turns around again, laughing softly. "What was it you're so afraid to ask me all this time?"
I keep forgetting he can hear my heartbeat raising.. I think a few seconds later, when I realize the reason why he's laughing. 'You can stay here, if you want'. I suggest, still feeling nervous. I don't have any other intensions than the fear I have experienced lately. It's still there, and I'll feel much more safe with him around. 'I mean... I'm kind of afraid of all things that has happened lately.'
He nods, and I immediately feel like he understands me. "Yeah ofcourse." He says as he's walking towards me. When he stands right in front of me, he puts away some locks behind my ear. "I'll sleep on the couch".
He may sleep in my room if he wants to, but what is he supposed to think when I suggest that? So I nod approvingly and then hug him. 'Thank you so much.' I say while leaning my head on his shoulder.
"I first have to get something from my car. I'll be inside in a second." He says, just as I want to get inside.
I nod, get inside and immediately sit down on the couch. Now that I have a second of rest, I feel how exhausted I actually am. A few minutes later Zach comes in and closes the door behind him. I get up and walk towards him, noticing he's holding a filled blood bag.
I look surprised. 'What happened to your mug?' I curiously ask.
"Somewhere at home, don't know where". He responds.
It's still weird to realize he drinks that and actually likes it. And when you think about it, the content could've been from me. If he had bad intensions. I mean, if he would want to, he can. And that's what I'm worrying about... What if there's going to be a day where he actually has bad intentions.
'You mind if I'm heading to bed?' I ask, yawning subdued.
"Heck yes, I mind. You're inviting me and we didn't even had snacks yet." He says, looking serious for a few seconds. But after the few seconds his serious face turns to smiling. "I'm just teasing."
My exhausted head just thought he was meaning what he said. 'Good night'. I say while staring at his gorgeous smile.
"Sleep tight." He responds. "And if there is anything.. even the smallest issue, just say my name and I'll hear you."
I nod exhausted and get upstairs, quickly brushing my teeth and getting in bed. I fall asleep almost immediately.
The sun eventually wakes me up early in the morning. I feel better, and wide awake. I walk to the bathroom and grab a washcloth, wetting it with cold water to refresh myself. Then I realize; Zach's here. I hurry downstairs thinking he would lay on the couch but when I open the door to the living room, I don't see him anymore...
