<ZACH'S POV>
It's already ten in the evening. She's still not awake, and I feel myself getting a little shirty. I shouldn't have hoped for something that was never going to happen anyway. And yet, I did.
"I need some air." I say, and get up from the couch to walk outside.
Mason, Alyssa and Alissa all just look at me, sitting exhausted on a chair around Mandy.
I slowly trudge through the woods, thinking about everything. About Mandy, the things I've been through, the things Mandy's been through... All of those problems. But as I walk, I see a young man sitting on a tree trunk right in front of the only large hole in this woods. The hole used to be a little ditch, but the water all evaporated due the warm days lately. I never thought someone would ever come here again, but I can use a little distraction right now. Out of boredom, I rapidly head over to him, sitting down.
He startles and looks scared at me, but then he starts laughing shortly. "Sorry. I didn't hear you coming."
"Are you in a relationship?" I ask, ignoring what he said.
He looks confused at me. "What?"
"...Yes?" He adds after I've been just questionably looking at him.
"Then you must be knowing what it would feel like when your girl is dead. But after you killed a few people, just because you're angry, you hear that she's breathing again. What a hope isn't it?"
I notice the man tries to say something, but I immediately interrupt him.
"... But she only breathes, and is unconscious for hours. Do you understand why I don't have hope anymore?" I add.
He just looks startled at me.
"Can't you relate?" I desperately ask.
He gets up from the trunk and creates a little distance between us. "I think you need a break, man." He says, looking strange at me.
After he said that, he walks away. But I immediately rapidly head towards him, standing right in front of him. He flinches and looks anxious at me. "How did you do that?!" He anxiously asks, walking backwards.
"...She's dead. And I still wanted to turn her into a vampire, you know." I explain, slowly walking towards him while he walks backwards. "But my annoying brother pushed me away, like this." I rapidly push him away which makes him fall to the ground, numbed of fear.
When he doesn't respond, I grab his shirt, lifting him up a little. "Why won't you say anything?!" I desperately ask.
"You're crazy!". He responds, trying to breathe properly.
I release him again, laughing nervous. "No!". I say, loud. "I'm rattled!"
"Y-you need help..." He softly says.
"Don't you get it?" I ask, still sounding rattled. "...You are my help."
He looks really confused to me again. But when I make my eyes go dark his face changes to anxious in no time. Before he could turn around and run away, I grab him and sink my teeth into his neck. Every bad memory but Mandy's death fades away for me now. I feel he tries to escape so he can run away, but in vain. After a few seconds he doesn't move anymore. And after even more seconds, his heart stops. At that moment I drop him to the ground, gasp for air and then throw the body into the old ditch. But the remorse starts coming back, and fast. I promised Mandy I wouldn't do something I'd regret. And look at what I just did... I'm not worth her trust... Because of all the remorse, I make the urges become a priority again, so I'll forget all of this, and move on.
