Unless the fact that I woke up on the couch after hours of 'sleeping', I still feel as tired as if I haven't even rested at all. And the fact Mason is walking as if his life depends on it doesn't really makes the situation better too.

"Would you mind walking a little slower, please?" I request, trotting after him.

Verbally, he doesn't respond but I notice he's adjusting his pace to mine, making it easier for me to keep up. When I'm walking next to him again, I glance up, immediately noticing his frustrated expression. I can relate though, a brother like that couldn't be easy for just anyone.

After minutes of walking the dark, little wooded, straight path towards whatever he's leading me to, I notice a larger more wooded, shadowed forest we're walking straight in to. It's like I've stepped over a threshold to a dilapidated building possessed by the darkness living there, giving me chills, instead of a warm welcome.

I stick closely to Mason as we walk in the forest and I anxiously turn my head around the menacing environment, paying attention to anything that could be a threat. God, I'm such a scaredy-cat. Mason snorts of laughter and I immediately look at him, seeing his frustrated look being totally changed into laughing. In a mocking way, though.

"Don't even think about it." I warn, thrusting my elbow against his right flank.

He tries to repress his smile and throws his hands innocent in the air. I take a deep breath when I see the small hill we're about to climb up and take large steps as I walk up. When at the top, I notice a little populated camp with three gray tents and an almost burned up campfire. Laughter and muffled male noises are hearable and  the vibe seems to be perfectly fine. Mason on the other hand, can hear a lot more than me, I think.

"Why did you bring me here?"

"You were curious about my regimen right? I'm here to show you."

I look at him, shocked. "What?!" I look incomprehensible around me and then back at him. "Are you really going to show me, how you are going to make them suffer for whatever it is they did?"

He turns his head to me, fast. "Aren't you at least a bit curious about what is happening at like fifteen minutes away from where you live? Your 'beloved town' where nothing bad happens?"

Actually, yes, I am curious. But that isn't supposed to make it right.

"We should go." I request and turn around to walk away but I directly bump into Zach, who stands right in front of me. Totally startled of Zach's sudden appearance, I lose balance and fall to the cold, wet dirt.

"What the hell are you doing here?" I hear Mason saying, sounding annoyed yet still muffled.

"I couldn't miss the show now, could I? You being all aggressive"

He replies, all smiling and sarcastic. "By the way, your girl is eating dirt."

Mason immediately looks down at me and offers his hand to help me getting up.

"Really funny, Zach." Mason replies, standing closely in front of me. "You can go now, really."

"And miss all the fun?" He says, looking indignant at Mason.

The rustle of bushes and sounds of the animals predominates in the background and I look hastily around, feeling as if someone is sneaking somewhere behind bushes, watching our every move. A couple of feet away from me I see two men chatting to each other nearby the campfire, smoke coming from their mouths as they talk.

"So, what is it they're doing wrong? Heating marshmallows by the campfire?' I ask, looking back at Mason and Zach.

"Don't play that card, Mandy." Mason sighs. "That acting naïve."
