Waiting for an ambulance, police or whatever help whatsoever, Alissa and I finally hear the loud sirens coming our way. The long straight road and the fact there are no byways nearby, makes it not so hard for them to find us; no need for leading nor directing them to the scene.

Eventually the sirens we've heard, the police car, rudely arrives maybe just three feet away from us. Two policemen symmetrically step out, the one in the passenger seat being – probably in his mid-twenties - much younger than the one who was driving.

"Good day, missies." The older, blonde-gray haired uniformed, haughty, probably fifty years old policeman greets belittling while walking towards us.

"...Hi." I greet back, but reluctantly. The bloke was clearly disparaging us, hearing the tone of his voice.

"I understand you two were a little shocked when finding this scene. But there's no time for cuddles and cakes, so let's get right on the question part."

"Wha-" But the guy punctuates me discourteously.

"First of all, are you sure the loud, car crashing noise emanated from this place?" He interrogates, his arms folded across his chest and looking down to me.

I thought his first question would at least be: are you fine? But no, he's one of those people, who think we're just waste of space, dumb folk because we live in one of the less 'popular towns'.

My eyes flick at Alissa, who is expectantly looking at me, waiting for my answer. "Yes."

Nodding, he continues. But my attention already switched to the silent 'slave' next to the interrogating cop. He too, has blonde hair, only not the grey pieces in it. His grey eyes aimed to mine. What would his chore be? Trainee? Assistant? I don't know, but he's clearly being belittled by this man too.

"Well?" The man says, reeling me back.

I shake my head fast and short of confusion. "Sorry, what?"

"... What was the time?"

"Uhh..." I respond, noticing I'm getting nervous, which makes me even more nervous. Imagine them suspecting me..."About two P.M. I guess."

"OK. You two, visit the police station in Delzyle this evening. My colleague will be there to elucidate a thing or two. 7 P.M. That's when we expect both of you to be there." The policeman says, or actually, commands. "But for now you two are better off leaving. " He adds.

"That's it?" I ask, indignantly looking, being surprised of how hastily he ends the conversation.

He looks at me, then walks past us to the wrecked car, his walkie talkie rustling on the background. The younger cop, a.k.a. his literal minion in crime, is following him obediently.

"Well, I am glad they cared so much." I whisper, looking at them nonchalantly walking away.

Alissa wrinkles her nose in disgust and nods. Even making the most subtle, acerbic remarks, Alissa always finds out whenever I am being sarcastic. It's kind of her sixth sense. Anyway, off we go home now, since the man 'gently' asked us to leave.

"Well, that escalated quickly." Alissa jokes while heading home, obviously being recovered from the shock she's been in.

"You stupid." I laugh, giving her a little push with my elbow. "Happy you're OK again though." I add.

She looks confused. "You are?"

"Of course I am! I have all the reason to, you..." Silent couple of seconds predominates as I'm thinking. "Ahh." I begin again. "You were sarcastic."

"Nooo... I was?". She drawls.

I snort short of laughter. "roofdove."

Suddenly I notice Alissa starts walking way faster than she did a few seconds ago. As if she's being chased, olympic level. I'm used of her trudging around, but now she just run-walks. I try to walk along with her, but then stumble and fall on the ground, hands being dirty of mud.
