Making their way back to the house, Michelle explained the basics of how living in the house worked to Chresanto, and he did nothing but listen. Curfew, chores, boundaries, priorities, all the things he never had in other foster homes. He came off looking like he didn't care for any of this but deep down, he was grateful. No one ever cared for Chresanto like this. All he thought of is how he didn't want to ruin it all like his past.

Finally getting home, Michelle made space in the living room on the couch for Chresanto to sleep on. "This is all yours. Bathroom's upstairs to the left if you need it." Michelle said, walking towards the staircase. "Kiloni! Courtlen! Come downstairs!" They both slumped their way down the stairs and into the living room. "What's up?" Courtlen asked. He tilted his head looking at Chresanto behind his mom. "Who's he?"

"This is Chresanto. He's going to be staying with us for a wh-"

"Why?" Courtlen rudely interrupted. Michelle glared back, "BECAUSE I'm helping him out right now. Is that a problem?"

"Nope," Courtlen snapped. He squinted his eyes at Chresanto, noticing him gazing at his sister. Without any other words, he made his way back to his room. Kiloni just stood there in silence with her arms crossed and a blank expression on her face.

"Don't mind him. He can be an asshole sometimes," Kiloni told Chresanto. He shrugged off Courtlen's rude attitude and sat himself onto the couch. "Well I'm gonna go get some food to eat," Michelle said as she walked to the kitchen, leaving Chresanto and Kiloni to themselves.

"You can call me Loni if you'd like.." Kiloni muttered. Surprisingly, he decided to talk to her on the first attempt. "..I'm Chres," he replied. She sat herself next to him on the couch and smiled. "Nice to meet you. Are you going to school with me and my brother?" Chres nodded, "Mhm.."

"Cool, what grade?"

"11th."

"Hey, me too! I'll show you around to your classes and stuff on the first day, okay?" she said happily, ready to go back upstairs. "okay.."

"Cool beans!" Kiloni grinned and walked back upstairs to her room.

"Wow.." Chres quietly said to himself. To him, he found Kiloni stunning but he already knew the thought wasn't very mutual. Kiloni wore sweats, a tank, and a high bun yet still looked perfect to Chres but all he had was his run down hoodie and jeans he wore during the accident. He basically had nothing. Luckily, Michelle thought ahead for him and put extra clothes on the couch for him to wear, even though they were Courtlen's. He went into the bathroom to change and ready himself to sleep for the rest of the night.

Back upstairs, Kiloni was laying in her bed, talking her best friend, Abby, and Courtlen was organizing his stash. "Abs, my mom brought a foster kid to the house.." Kiloni groaned. "Is he cute? Is he a bad boy? I love those.. wait, why's he here?" Abby responded. "Haha, well she's helping him out so he has to stay here.. and he's sorta cute... and I don't know if he is.." Kiloni explained. She had no intentions of paying much mind to Chresanto but she grew curious about why he's here.

In Courtlen's room, he blasted loud trap music and went on with his business. He didn't like the thought of another guy in the house or anyone eyeballing his sister, besides his boss, Jake. He liked feeling like the man of the house since his dad worked a lot. Hopefully, he thought Chresanto wouldn't get in the way of that. To ease his mind, he rolled up his joint, opened his window and lit his weed. He had no worries that night, and seems as if no one else did besides Michelle. She never told her husband about another mouth to feed in the house.
