For the past couple days since Chresanto's arrival, Michelle and Jordan hadn't spoken. They haven't even looked at each other since the arguement. Now, Michelle finally took time to confront the situations at hand. She waited all night until 2AM for Jordan to come home. He stepped into the bedroom overwhelmed at Michelle being awake so late. "What the hell? You scared me," Jordan muttered. "We need to talk. Now," Michelle sternly replied. "What about?"
"Chresanto."
"Oh, he's finally leaving?!"
"No, he is not leaving. He's going to stay with us as long as he can." Jordan let out an anger growl.
"I'm not paying shit for that boy, you hear me?! He needs to go!"
"Then I'll pay! We barely need you anyways since you're always running off with another woman!"
The room got dead silent. "Well.. I wouldn't have to if you were a decent wife-"
"You take that back," Michelle interrupted. "You don't do anything for me anymore and I'm sick of dealing with your BS!""Me? You're never here yourself so what makes you think that? You barely see the kids anymore.. when was the last time you spent time with any of us?" Jordan thought about that last time and barely anything came to his head. He couldn't remember because he really never spent time with them at all. "I dunno.." he answered. "I'm never here because times have changed, Michelle.." Her face changed into a confused expression. "What do you mean?"
"There's too much on the plate right now. The kids are growing up and ready for college and all that, PLUS you brought that boy here? Seriously."
Michelle's eyes began to water. She could sense the bad news coming from the tone of his voice. "..w-what are you saying?"
"I need to go for a while." Tears started streaming down her face. "Jordan please-"
"I don't want to but I'm already dealing with enough-"
"with the other woman? Is that it?!" Michelle barked, wiping her tears. "..I just need some time away, that's all." Michelle started to cry less. "Fine. Just go. Try not to come back."
"Don't say that, Michelle."
"Why? You're leaving us for someone else, so just get out."
"That's not true."
"Then why?!" The room got silent again. "That's right. Some other bitch. Just go."
"FINE. But guess what? She supports me on my treatment more than you are!" Michelle put on a worried/innocent face. "treament?"
"Yes. I'm at work because of a brain tumor. I work at the hospital then get treatment with the help of a FEMALE nurse. That's why I come so late every night. You happy now?" Michelle's stomach felt like it sank to her feet. She never saw any signs or symptoms in Jordan. She began to cry hysterically. "Oh my God.. I'm so sorry!" Jordan rushed to the other side of the room and comforted his wife on their bed. "It's fine, I'll be okay.. just be strong for me. That's all I want from you," he said. Michelle cried into his chest. "Why didn't you tell me? How long has it been?"
"A couple months or so. I wanted to tell you but I was trying to prevent these tears from happening."
"I would cry regardless for you. I'm your wife. It's my job to care."
"Well I promote you from my care giver to my soldier. Promise to be strong for me on this.."
"..I will. I promise." Jordan kissed her forehead and stroked her short black hair.
"How will we tell the kids?" Michelle asked, as she wiped her tears. "We'll take them out or something and by the end of the day, we'll tell them together.. cool?" Michelle nodded her head at Jordan's idea. "Cool.. but about Chresanto. Can he stay? I really don't want him to end up back on the streets, and I'll pay off for him so you don't have to. Pleaseeee?" She asked, putting on a puppy dog face. Jordan let out a deep sigh. "That Chresanto boy.. keep him away from Kiloni and you got yourself a deal."
"Yes!" She took his face into her hands and kissed him. "Thank you! but one more thing."
"Oh Lord, what now?" he chuckled to himself.
"All that stuff you said before.. did you mean those things about me? That I don't care and all my bs?"
"Nah.. it only seemed that way because I stay away from you guys. And I was just mad.. I'm sorry if that hurt you."
"It's okay..I love you, Jordan.." she said, hugging him. "I love you too, just like the past 20 years.." he tilted her head up, brushed the hairs out of her face and kissed her.
Now that all of that is out of the way between Jordan and Michelle, they have to make sure to get the news to the kids.
