Abby has finally reached her 16 week mark in her pregnancy and everyone was starting to figure it out. She's a skinny girl and carrying her first child; her bump was starting to become obvious. People would stop and talk to her, trying to figure out who knocked her up, what the gender was, etc. All of it was just plain annoying to her.

To add on to the fact that everyone bothered her, she was still thinking about her arguement with Courtlen. Abby was seriously considering aborting, just so she can get her life together first. It all made sense that her priorities shouldn't need to include taking care of her kid. On the other hand, she helped create the problem so it only seemed right to her to take care of it since it was pracially her responsibility. If Courtlen didn't want to be in the mix, so be it.

As the school bell rang for her next period class, Abby packed her stuff together and slowly walked herself to class. Everyone in the halls made way for her and looked at her funny. It made her uncomfortable and basically feel like an outcast, so she didn't look at anyone. The only person she looked at was Courtlen.

He laid back against some lockers, talking and laughing with his friends, rather than getting to class like everyone else. Abby walked slower going by him and gave him an upset look. He glanced at her and completely shut her out. It was like she wasn't there, which made her feel worse. She began to scurry into the crowded stairway to go to her next period. At this point, no one wanted make room for anyone, including her. Instead of people using the stairs, they stood around them to talk to their friends, making it hard to go by. Abby struggled to reach the stairs going down, bumping back and forth into other students. Once she got to the stairs, one of those bumps was too forceful.

About to step down, Abby lost her balance at the top of the staircase. Without enough time or space to grab onto the rail, she fell down the steps. There was barely any people on the stairs but others watched Abby tumble from the top. Falling down, she hit her head, ankle and most importantly, her pregnant belly. From hitting her head too hard on the steps, she went unconscious.

Students rushed down to check on her, some just looked at her in shock. "Oh my God, someone get the nurse or something!" cried a girl, trying to help Abby gain consciousness. No less than 5 minutes, the nurse came and called 911 since there wasn't much she could do for Abby. It was only up to a real doctor to see if everything was okay for her and her child.

When Abby was at the hospital, the only person who could go see her at the time was her mom. Everyone else was either at work, school or just unable to come at the moment. Abby already spoke to her parents about being pregnant since she couldn't hide her growing stomache anymore. She got a hell of a lecture filled with yelling and cussing but her mom and dad agreed to help her out as long as she put in the work to actually take care of her baby.

Her mother paced around the waiting room as she waited for a doctor to tell her about her daughter's condition. After almost an hour, the doctor came and told her to join Abby in her room to receive the news together. She scurried into the room behind the doctor and hugged Abby with relief, "oh thank goodness, you're okay! How you feelin'?"

"A little pain here and there but I'll manage.." Abby cracked a small smile at her mom, held her hand then looked at the doctor. "How's it looking for me?" The doctor sighed deeply, "Well, you have a twisted ankle, a fractured arm and some bruises, but those will heal over time."

"And my baby?"

"Actually, fine. Normally, on tv, you'll see women have a miscarriage from falling but in reality, it's pretty unlikely since the uterus is low in the pelvis and protected by your pelvic bones." Abby laid back on her bed and smiled. "You are very lucky, Abby, but you have to be more careful."

"I will, I promise!"

"Alright.. I'll leave you be with to be with your mom." The doctor smiled and made his way out the room.

Abby's mom sat down next to the bed. "You better thank God for dodging that bullet.."

"I know.. mama, do you think I should really keep this kid? Don't you think it'll ruin my future?" Her mom turned and gave Abby a stern look. "Your child will ruin your future if you let it. Aborting it, to me personally, is just running away from your problems. Once you do that, it'll come back to haunt you. Just do what you need to and you'll be okay."

"..I guess you're right." Abby nodded and kissed her mom on the cheek. "Thanks, mama."

"No problem.. I gotta start work in half an hour so I'll visit you later, just get some rest." Her mom got up, hugged her daughter and left to go home. After 10 minutes, Abby fell into a deep sleep.

As always, Chresanto and Bahja were talking and hanging out together. Today, Chres agreed to hang out with Bahja and her girlfriend. She felt that since they were becoming close friends, she might as well let Chres meet her. The two were on their way to go meet up with Ilianeliz on the bus. "I haven't really REALLY chilled her in a while, she's been M.I.A lately.." Bahja said in a bummed out tone. "Recently, she's been quiet at home. She missed school for like two weeks and everything, then she came out the cut like it was all good. It was really weird.. we made plans after that but she bailed after like half an hour. But now, she hit me up again and said we could all hang out."

"Did she even say why she went M.I.A.?"

"Nah, not yet. I was just gonna ask about all that later. If I don't get some answers, there's gonna be some shit going down."

In the middle of their conversation, Chresanto's phone rang; It was Courtlen. "Hol' on a second, Bahja.." He pulled the phone out his pocket and picked it up. "Hello?"

"Yo bro, come to the hospital near the crib real quick."

"Why? You good?"

"It's Abby. She fell down some stairs at school today and she got hurt pretty bad.. I ain't even know about that shit 'til I got home."

"Oh shit! Seriously? Is the baby okay?"

"Oh.. yea, that lil' nigga's aight. Abby's okay but ya know, at least come see her."

"I got you, I'm coming. Gimme 15 minutes."

"Aight."

"Later." Chres hung up his phone and looked at Bahja. "Listen, I gotta go."

"What's wrong?"

"My friend is in the hospital. She felt down some stairs and got hurt pretty bad."

"Oh shit, then get going, nigga! We can chill another day."

"Aight, just text me."

"You know I will.." At the next stop, Chresanto hopped off the bus to catch a different bus to get to the hospital. Once again, he missed out on another awkward confrontation between Bahja and Ilianeliz. It was a lucky pass but at one point or another, it'll probably happen.
