It's been about a week since Kiloni spoke to Chresanto and since Abby and Courtlen had sex. Abby's been noticing the distance between Chres and Loni in school and at home. At Kiloni's house, the two friends were in her room afterschool doing homework. Kiloni looked drained. "Girl, you okay? You don't look so good.." Abby worried. "Yea yea.. I'm fine.." she repeatedly tapped her pencil on her work. "As your friend, I know you're lying. What's wrong? Why aren't you talking to Chresanto?" Kiloni took a long pause and turned to Abby. All the information spilled. What Courtlen said, the scene on the roof, everything.

"Is this what Courtlen was guilty about? That fucker.." Abby thought to herself.

She got up and hugged Kiloni to comfort her. "I think Chres is right.. he's wrong but right." Kiloni tilted her head. "Huh?"

"Jake is probably in charge. Why you think he's always busy? Plus, I didn't know you self harmed. If some guy, out of the blue, notices the first time he met you and cared enough to help you stop, why would he lie? He probably needs what you have.. someone to make him stop." Kiloni sat back and processed everything Abby said. "Jake wouldn't lie to me-"

"And Chres would? I know he hasn't been here as long but shit. Open your eyes, dude." Abby got up and packed her stuff. "I gotta go anyways.. we'll talk later." She picked up her bag and left the room, leaving Kiloni to her thoughts.

About to go downstairs, Abby got pulled by Courtlen. "Where you goin' without saying hi?" he flirted in her ear. "Fuck off," Abby barked. "Shhh calm down, why are you mad?"

"Why would you tell Loni something like that? She had something good going with someone and you fucked it up. Why? I dunno!" Courtlen didn't respond; all the guilt came rushing back. "Listen. If you want to be a low life and feel like shit, fine. Just leave other people out of it." Abby stomped downstairs and made her way outside, slamming the front door behind her. Courtlen slowly backed himself into his room, finally realizing what he's done. The two siblings stayed in their rooms for the rest of the day, thinking about their advice from Abby.

As for Chresanto, he was with Roshon, tutoring again. "Now balance the inequalities."

"The whats?"

"The problems.."

"Oh. 0 and 4?"

"You got it." Roshon answered. Chresanto grinned; he never got an understanding at school, due to the fact that education was never really important at other foster homes. "Thanks for helping me out with this stuff, man. I really appreciate it." Chresanto said. Roshon smiled and nodded, "no biggie!"
"Haha.. I got a question for you though. How come you're so quiet? You're mad chill but you don't hang with nobody. What's up with that?" Roshon's smile began to fade. "I don't know.. no one likes nerds, I guess."

"That's a lie. You know that girl Kiloni? She's mega smart and she has alot of friends, and a boyfriend!"

"Are you her boyfriend?" Chresanto paused and looked down, "..no."

"Really? I thought you guys wer-"

"We're not."

"Um okay.. what's your point here, Chresanto?"

"You need to get out there. You don't need to keep your head in the books all the time. Live a little!"

"I know.. I mean, I would like to but I don't even know where to begin, honestly." Chresanto moved his head slightly over to see a vibrant piece of paper taped on the wall behind Roshon. The paper read: "Football Tryouts".

"Roshon, can you run fast?"

"I guess but I don't see-"

"We're trying out for football. Me and you."
Roshon's jaw dropped from those frightful words. "Huh?!"

"Yea. I'm gonna get you out there."

"But I can't-"

"I'll help you. You'll be fineee." Roshon sat back and took off his glasses. He was completely scared, but a little bit excited; overall, he doesn't know what to expect.

The next day, the car ride was still quiet and they actually got to school on time. About to walk inside, Chresanto stopped Kiloni. "Are you going to tell Michelle?" Kiloni turned to Chresanto with a blank expression. "No, I'll let her find out for herself." She tugged her arm out of Chresanto's hand and walked into school. In particular, she was only looking for Jake. Finally finding him with some friends, she approached him. He stopped his whole conversation instantly. "Hey Loni!" he shouted, kissing her cheek. Kiloni showed no emotion to him. "Babe, can I talk to you real quick? Alone?" Jake looked at her concerned and gestured his friends to leave. "What's up?"

"Is there something you're not telling me?"

"No. Did you think there was something?"

"Honestly yes. I heard from some people that I can't mention that you're messing with drugs. Please tell me that's not true."

"It's not! Who told you that shit?"

"I told you, I can't say.."

"It was that Chresanto kid, huh?"

"I didn't say that."

"Then who was it?"

"I can't say!" Jake let out a deep sigh. "Fine.. but I told you the truth so stop asking."

"I will.. I knew you wouldn't lie to me. I'm sorry."

"It's cool." They got close and kissed each other. "I love you, Jake.." He didn't know how to respond so he lied. "I love you too.." The first period bell began to ring and Kiloni made a run for class. "I don't want to be late! I'll see you later!" She yelled, running up the stairs.

As she ran off, Jake walked in the opposite direction, with a mean look in his eyes. He was officially after Chresanto. He knows he has something to do with Kiloni's suspicions.
